Love My Surgeon!!!!! Latest Dx News!
Well,
Some of you may have read recently
Where I had yet a new twist to my
Ongoing Journey through Complications.
An unexplained pain shooting from my
Lower Abdomen down through my pelvis.
Two Days ago I was headed to the
Urologists to have it diagnosed and fixed.
Nothing! Not Bladder Connected,
Not Prostate, Not anything that the
Urologists could find. Boo!
They said-
"Go back to your surgeon."
So, this afternoon, back to my Surgeon,
Who I must say is great.
I have been his "Problem Child."
I somehow manage to luck out and
Have just about any possible complication
That one would least expect.
His other patients, at support group meetings,
Are the folks that brag about going back to
Work after 5 days! Not that I've ever been jealous.
Any way,
I still had a Seroma from my recent Abdominal
Reconstruction, and I'm thinking-
"This is just something that will take time and patience."
My Dr. checks me out and surmises that the pressure
From my Seroma could be pushing on a nerve.
So, in his office, he quickly sets up to drain it.
I thought this would be a "Surgical" Procedure.
And to a degree it was.
It's near the end of the office day, and he pops a needle
In to my stomach,
(a xylocaine shot first, absolutely painless)
And slowly drains out a full liter plus a little, of liquid.
The "liquid" appeared to be expresso.
Dark Brown to Black.
It took about 45 minutes. Through a little IV sized tube.
It was just me, my Dr. and his nurse left in the building.
He asked-
"Do you have to be anywhere?"
"No, Go for it."
When finished, sure enough, he had surmised correctly!
Love that Guy!
The pain is fading quickly away.
I stepped back on the scales quickly while he
Wrote out my prescription for antibiotics.
I had lost 3 pounds while in his office!
I had to tighten my belt up one more notch!
TA-DA!!!
Best Hour I've ever had at a Dr.'s office.
Fixed my problem, Lost 3 pounds and 1 ½ inches!
If it hadn't been for the pain,
I would have been "re-absorbing" that Seroma
Over the next two months.
I've been so lucky to have just the right "Complications"
To make my WLS journey super productive and successful!
Now, I'm at 182 lbs, 3 pounds below goal,
And that gives me "wiggle room," to add some
Muscle mass to my upper body, without going
Back over my goal!
Happy Dance!
May everyone have a perfectly smooth journey
Free of any complications what so ever.
And if not, may you overcome them in such a way
To make it all the more worthwhile!
Thanks for all of your support!
Best Wishes-
Dx
