1 week check-up!
today i went for my post-op check-up. dr salameh said everythign was looking good. they removed my draiage tube and checked my other incisions. i lost 18lbs (289lbs down to 271). i was excited. i havent lost lost much weight in my whole 25 years combined! lol. im on pureed foods still and prob wont get promoted until 3 weeks. thats also when my next appointment will be. he released me to drive and walk at least 30 min a day. he suggested that i start using protein powder mixed in everything to make sure i get all i need. so i went and got some from GNC. its whey protein??? any suggestions if that is a good kind or not?? well im still on cloud nine right now but thats about it on my check-up. thanks to everyone for the support. im tryin to get aboard the "choo-choo" with my protein and water intake. right now im tryin to figure all of it out. but hopefully soon i will b postin with ya'll. later and thanks again!
CONGRATS!! 18 pds in one week is AWESOME!
You have a good reason to be on cloud nine! What a great feeling it has to be to know that you are actually losing weight! I can't wait!
Don't try to rush things, keep following your post op orders from the dr and you will continue to do great!
Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

Hi Becky,
I'm glad things went well at the checkup. Different brands of whey protein taste differently. It's trial and error to find what you like. Don't buy a whole lot of anything until you know what you like. Right now, I'm using a whey powder I got from VitaLady called HDT 5+1 in Vanilla Cream (it was on sale, 6lbs for 20.00). It is a good base for alot of different flavors of add-ins. I particularly like the DaVinci Hazelnut and Raspberry in this vanilla. Very different flavors from one protein powder thanks to the SF syrups. Oh, and I always like mine extra cold so I drop in some ice cubes before I blenderize. I think one or the most important thing to have is a hand-held stick blender. I can't stand to drink clumpy shakes.
My personal trick is to only drink shakes from a wine glass. I know it's unneccessary but somehow makes it more appealing.
Hang in there,
Elesha
