1/22/05 What We Ate Today...
7:30 2 Coffees with Splenda and Milk
Protein Bar
9:45 Protein Bar ( to ward off birthday cake)
11:00 Salad Bar @ Chuck E. Cheese (Lettuce, heavy on the egg (or
"egg product", cheese, sunflower seeds, cucumbers)
12:30 Chocolate Birthday Cake about 3"x3"
Coffee
4:30 1/2 apple
5:30 Catfish fillet with Jalapeno Honey Mustard Sauce
1/2 can of green beans
Water: Only about 40 oz today.
Exercise: I only workout when the kids are in school.
Forgot to take my meds until around noon. I'm taking an anti-biotic so I also take my Previcidand Wellbutrin XL along with supplements.
Today was a usual weekend with 4 children. Three of the four had birthday parties so I played taxi all day long. I forgot to carry my water so I was short today. I managed to avoid the cake and ice cream @ Chuck E. Cheese, and at The Painted Zebra but I was weak by the time I pickup the last child @ a good friend's house and she offered me coffee. I went into that kitchen and there it was...chocolate cake. The rest is history. I feel the need to report that I DID NOT eat the ice cream, M&Ms, or any of the other candy in the Goody Bags that came home only because I knew I would have to tell you guys about it !!!!!!!! the accountability is working!!!!

Hi Elesha,
I'm not even going to try to recall what I've ate today, it was too hectic and I grabbed bites here and there when I remembered, I think included were mozarella sticks and beef jerkey and I had a lean cuisine type thing for lunch.. and some peanuts in the afternoon.. anyways, I'm glad I 'm not the only one who "sins" every now and then.. all this hype about "you should never eat chocolate cake again" in my eyes is b.s. anyways, we all cheat and those who don't are not getting the whole point that we are actually eating healthy now and every now and then a treat will NOT kill us but will take away the cravings, at least thats how it works for me.
Had I been with you, I would have joined you in that piece of cake..
I see you're right around the weight I'm striving for.. 55 more pounds to go, already 2/3 there, its amazing, and I love my new lifestyle!!
~~Andie~~
Hi Andie,
Let 'em eat cake!LOL I agree with you.
I had this surgery to be "normal". Normal people indulge, realize that they are doing it and maybe have gained a few pounds. Then, they do something about it and lose those few pounds. That's what I'll do too...Now that I have my pouch to help me. It used to make me almost cry when my hubby would gain 5-10 lbs and notice his pants were tight. He would casually say "Whoa, I need to cut back" and he did it and lost with no problem. Now, losing 5lbs is a much more doable task than losing 125lbs.
It's nice to talk with you Andie. Take care.

I know my numbers dont look too good -my carbs are so high. I havent had that shake yet but I will before I go to bed.
I did however ride 14.4 miles on my bike today on Longleaf Trace. It took us about 3.5 hours. The most I have ever done is 10 miles and my usual is 8.2 miles. Today was wonderful. My legs are numb but thats ok. Last weekend I talked to some guys who were at the rest stop where they had come from and where they were going. They told me they ride 22 miles in 2 hours. HOLY COW!

Hey I see I am not the only one going to birthday parties today. I got weak at the second one and had 1/2 piece of cake. At the third one which was at McDonald's I had a couple bites of my little girl's apple pie.
Anyway, here goes:
B Raisin Bran
1% Lactaid
S Carb Watcher Brownie
L Tuna Salad
8 lite chips with low carb dip
1 sf cookie
S 1/2 slice bday cake & a few cheetos (ignored them the other night but they called to me really loudly at the bday party
D Lone Star with my sister and brother-n-law
3 small cheese fries
Few bites of hubby's salad
Black Bean Soup (1/2 cup)
Dessert 3 sf mini reeses and 2 low sugar kisses
I was on the run today between birthday parties and family gatherings, but I did manage to drink a good bit. Not as much as I should but pretty good considering the Saturday running around. I may try to get in some isopure for some protein before bed, but I am pretty full so may not. This has been a pretty hectic week, plus being my special time made it worse, but I do plan on doing better with protein next week when I feel better. Like you said we are "normal" and have those good and bad weeks where we do better than others.
Later,
Melissa
