Newbie on Board...

Hi Kimberly Welcome to the Mississippi board! As you have probably already figured out.. we are just like family here. I am glad to see new comers! I bet you have your hands full with the little ones. All mine are grown. But, I do have 2 granddaughters. They are so precious to me & my hubby. Faith is 4 yrs old, & Cayleigh is 7 months. Hey Kimberly it's nice to meet you! I completely understand where your comming from! I myself am the mother of a preemie he was born 3 months early at 27 weeks gestation age weighing in at 1 pound 14 ounces he stayed in the NICU at UMC for 9 1/2 months so I understand the emotional eathing thing!!! but I have been severly obease all of my life. I dont live too far from you, I live the Pearl/Brandon area. If you ever want to talk please feel free to email me with your numbers or let me know and I will gladly give you mine. Hi Kimberly, come on in out of the cold!! It is great to hear from you. As you can tell, this support group is really growing. I noticed before replying that you intro has been read 45 times!! There is a lot of crusin' other's posts and a lot of active members too - I hope you are an active one (although I have a tendency to cruise more than post, SSHHHH). Anyway, hang in there and feel the warmth of this group. james.

Welcome. Everyone on this site is GREAT! This is by far the best support group site EVER.. I am pre-op also, I am 5'2", 240, and hopefully will have my surgery in the next few months. I am looking forward to starting my new life OVER... You should go to all the support group meetings and things that you can before and after surgery, it will help you alot! Also, you have the chance to meet some of the wonderful people from this site. Rhonda

Hello Kimberly I am a mom of 4 and have a son in law also. My children are Jennifer age 21, James age 18, Jeremy age 9 and the one and only Jill age 6. I too gained 30 pds with each of the last 2 children. Add 60 pds to an overweight gal and you have a really overweight gal. I am 5'7" and weigh 330. I am a size 30 dress or 3x to 4x shirt. That kind of gives you an idea about how much I need to lose. I think my BMI is 53. Well I am so glad you wrote. I know you feel better already. I have finished with the pre op stuff just waiting on a date from UMC. Can't wait to chat with you in the future. Love always Jane

Hi Kim!! I don't know if you remember me, but our kids (Brandon and Kate) used to hang out together w/ "Aunt" Carol. We still have the picture of them together on their last romp before our family moved to Denver. Carol has kept me up to date w/ pictures of your family. I can't believe how big Brandon has gotton. Welcome to the boards! This site is both inspirational and informative. And the people on the Mississippi board are so very supportive and kind. I had WLS two months ago (Dr. Cleveland was my doctor, too). Please feel free to call me (Carol is going to give you my numbers and email). I would love to talk to you.
