Hiya! I've been lurking around here for a few weeks now. I already feel like I know alot of you! LOL So I thought I'd take a few minutes and introduce myself! by the way...arlies...great to see you back! Ok, I'm Kimberly, and I live in Madison. I am 5'4" and weigh 235 pounds. I have been overweight all of my adult life. I gained 100 pounds with my very complicated first pregnancy and it's been a battle since then. But since we all have the same struggles, I won't go on and on about that. I have 2 boys, 11 and 5, and a baby girl, 10 months. Brandon, Nicholas, and Olivia respectively. My middle child, Nicholas, was a twin. His sister, Hannah, was stillborn. YES - I'm an emotional eater! (part of the reason I'm here LOL) My baby, Olivia, was born prematurely, as were the twins. It's been an exhausting 10 years, battling infertility, miscarriage, infant death, prematurity complications, a surprise baby, another premature birth etc. etc. etc....!!! Now I'm through! I want my body back and can't wait to get approved for my surgery! It's time to focus on myself, so I can be around for a long long time to take care of these precious gifts! I have the intention of using Dr. Clevand at CMMC. I have been to my first seminar, and have turned in my medical history. Now I'm just waiting for my initial consult. I hope to qualify. My BMI is right at 40, so I should be ok... but my anxiety is eating away at my nerves! Anyway, that's enough for now. Thanks for reading! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better! HUGS Kimberly

What a rough time you have had! You are incredible to have gotten thru all you have in the last 10 years. How are the preemie babies, Nicholas and Olivia (love that name) doing now? You post often and stick with us. We will get you thru this if we have to drag you kicking and screaming!!! I love newbies...heck, I love everybody..... and I am a sucker for babies....My babies are adult sized now... I am glad to be back. I had a rough night last night...Couldn't sleep - too tired! And I found out today that when one drinks cold water too fast, it is no fun! My pouch screamed when the water hit bottom. But after a nap, I feel lots better. Smooch Arlies

Wow! Thank you all SO much for the warm welcome! Arlies - you asked how my preemies were doing.... they are doing just great. Nicholas is now 5 years old. He has some lung damage from being on the ventilator, so he does alot of breathing treatments, but overall he's a normal, active, loving boy. He's my heart! He's the most loving child you'll ever meet! Olivia is doing fine also. She's a bit small, but that doesn't stop her from ANYTHING! LOL I will also add that I have a very supportive husband. Scott and I have discussed this surgery alot. My cousin is 1 year post op and has done incredibly. My best friend had it done 2 years ago, and again, feels SO much better and is maintaining very well. When I first thought about the surgery, I figured I'd never be brave enough to attempt it. I see now that it will save my life. Every woman in my family, from mother on, is diabetic, we have heart disease, etc etc. I am beginning to have these problems as well and I really want to "nip it in the bud" before I get out of control. Keeping my fingers crossed! HUGS Kimberly
