Hey Mississippi!
Hey
I've been meaning to get a photo taken this week,
But so far I've been buried with school starting back.
I'll try to get something out to the OH Photo folks
This weekend.
I'm trying to find a good "Before" pic too.
The photo that is on the posts, is me after losing
My first 140 or so pounds.
It is cold, but compared to yesterday it's toasty!
Best Wishes-

This board is hoppin today. I cant keep up... I am so glad it is busy though... it means we have a larger family!
Dex, did you ever go streakin?? Just curious if you were brave enough to do it. Also, wanted to tell you that either you are just a wonderful person or your wife has trained you well. I love how you always always are supportive and upbeat and keeping folks motivated. I always look for your famous posts and save them in my favorite places. My all time favorite was the Invisible Angels. Thank you for all you do.
For those who didnt get to read it -here is the link:

Christine,
You're too sweet!
I did go for a "little late night jog,"
At the end of my driveway.
But not to be repeated, even now that I've reached my
Final Goal - 185!!!
I had totally forgotten about that post.
I still think it is the greatest gift you can ever give yourself.
See you around "Our Board!"
Particularly now that the Main Message Board
Has "Frozen up" for the night.
We can still get to support pages and other places,
Just no main board.
Best Wishes-
Dx
tee hee hee... tee hee hee...
Thats great... You have done really well considering all you have been thru. You and Jimmy are the only 2 guys I know that have had this surgery and you both had complications BUT pulled thru wonderfully well. My dad has filled out his paperwork but I have to admit I am scared for him. He weighs about 260 but he is short. No health problems (yet)--- say a lil prayer for him that he gets approved and thru it safely.
Keep being you!
Arlies,
I read this afternoon when you were mentioning your drain tube. Did you come home with it. I really don't understand what it is for, is it in your stomach for nasty junk that comes out. Is it painful and how long does it stay in. I will be glad when you feel like giving us the low down of the gross stuff. I need to know before hand. I have just two more appt. left.
Thanks,
nan
Ok, I would like to hijack this one... sorry Arlies
The Drain Tubes? yeah..well not EVERYONE gets them. If you do, don't freak out. It's not pleasant but it's not agony either. The tubes are placed inside your abdomen to help drain any fluids after surgery. Most likely they are placed really close to your new stomach exit, so they can kind of monitor any leakage. They come out on the opposite side of your tummy, where they are attached with a couple of stitches, it depends on your surgeon how long you have them though. The lines inside your belly are around 10-15inches long. Funny feeling when they're pulled, not so much painful I guess but more of a weird nauseating feeling to me. Anyways, My JP drains(Jackson- Pratt drains), 2 of them, were taken off at 1 week post op. If you get them taken out, take pain medicine before your doctors visit, take a deep breath when they are about to remove them and clench your teeth. I won't lie, its NOT pleasant but it's totally over before you know it started. The G-tube inserted inside your "stump" (separated) stomach, would be another "tube" you can have, mine was for in case the old stomach started having fits so they wouldnt have to operate in case that muscle at the exit would block any drainage and would threaten to blow your stomach up. I was also able to insert medicines through the G-tube as well as protein liquid ( if you have ever tried that stuff, you'd understand!! lol ) and it was taken out at three weeks. The Staples came out at two weeks.
If you have any more questions, PLEASE ask. I'll gladly answer
Take Care!!
