Self Pay Psych Evals

Just need a question answered....I've read somewhere recently on the MS board where Dr. Gilbert in Meridian performs psych evaluations for pre-op patients. I know that this is true; however, does CMMC honor this? I have the cash price breakdown and I know that they have three physicians who are working with the program and the price is $300. Dr. Gilbert only charges $100. So, please let me know. Thanks bunches!!!

Before Psycho Doc was on our boards I had to self pay for my exam. It was $374.00. That is crazy. Insurance required it but wouldnt pay for it. Dr. Gilbert (Psycho Doc) has done many on here and I am almost positive CMMC accepts him but I am not sure. Good luck. Christine

If we have a potential psych., can we just call CMMC and ask if they will honor him/her?

They mentioned in the seminar that if you have another Psych you would like to use, that is fine. If you use a Psych not listed then you just need to call Adam at CMMC and let him know the Doctor's name and number so that he can send them the information required by CMMC for the evaluation.

You need to call Adam and let him know if you choose to use another doctor that is not listed. This way Adam can get with that doctor and let them know what CMMC is requiring for the Psych evaluation. I saw Dr. Hawks and paid her after my evaluation, so when I went to my pre-op visit and meet with Adam to write the checks (CMMC, Surgical Anesthesia Associates, Jackson Pulmonology, Jackson Radiology, Ameripath, etc. - you will write 4-5 seperate checks to each of these that will total to the cash price of $15,450) Adam told me I would not pay the $300 for the Psychology evaluation since I had paid Dr. Hawks directly.
