Hello y'all I'm back in town and back on the board. The S*** ( aka coldwhitewetstuff, to me it IS a four letter word!) last weekend totally sucked and it made the trip home a nightmare. I was delayed by a whole day and the overpasses were just fine up to Morgan City ( if you all don't know where that is, it's about an hour east of New Orleans on Hwy 90 ) and the entire highway that was built across the swamp there including the bridge across the Intercoastal Waterway was iced over and it took me two extra hours to get home.You guys don't even know where I've been, god knows, in the middle of bumflip nowhere, luckily I was travelling during the day and was able to navigate with help of the sun and compass in my car I had three kids in the car with me, and the "are we there yet" comments didn't help , either. I was getting flashes in my mind of the Donner Party!! Just kidding! But honestly, have you ever been lost in the backwoods swamps of Louisiana? it ain't pretty > So here I am, back and alive, we made it through our Donner party experience alive and I'm happy to be back and see new peeps on the board! he he he he he he ya know it wasn't so much the " are we there yet" 's but more the comments by my 15 yr old smartly commenting "Mom, do you even know where you are going" or "Mom, where exactly are we on the map right now?" Of course that led to the 5 yr old mocking her and yipping the same lines while I was faking a confindent "Of course I know where I am" , sweatin' bullets and hoping and praying that the road I took was indeed the one I remembered taking years ago before the Highway was built We made it okay, but it's definitely an experience I don't want to recreate anytime soon. My nerves are too weak for that and I don't know if that teenager and her 5 yr old sister would see their next birthday if I had to do this again
