Sleep Test Scheduled
Hi Everyone! I am getting closer and closer everyday to getting a surgery date. I have my first appointment with the nutritional medicine tomorrow. I am scheduled for my sleep test for possible sleep apnea on Jan. 13. Arlies, looks like we will both be spending the night at Keesler in the same week. I will be there for you anyway!!! I am getting excited! I go to my first informational/support group meeting tonight. My husband is going along with me. Hopefully that will help him understand the surgery more and support me more about having it done. He is scared that I am going to die from the surgery. I know that is a risk, but if I don't have it, I could die from being morbidly obese and all of the problems that go along with it. I have gotten in touch with a couple of local people here and I think the support group that comes from this website is so totally awesome! Thanks to everyone for their support and prayers!
Happy New Year to you all!!
Rhonda
Rhonda,
That is wonderful. You are on your way girl. I'm jealous !!!
I go in Feb. to see if I need one. Well Duh... of course I need one.
Then it will take another month or two just to get it...
Isn't that the way it works ??? it is for me ayways... heehee
Are you and Arlies..........
having a slumber party and just don't want to invite all of us?
Tammy,
Everyone is invited to our slumber party.. Arlies may need some extra help at her bedside in case the nurses don't want to do their job. That is known to happen over here at Keesler. Some of them are really great and some just don't care unfortunately. As for me, I will be I hope..
Good news though, I was unsure until last night whether I had been approved for the surgery and put on the waiting list, but Nurse Lisa assured me that my name is on the waiting list. Who knows how long I will be on the list, but I am on it and that is a good start!!
Thanks for everything, this is such a great group of people!!
Rhonda
Oh, no, Rhonda!!! You leaked the slumber party to Tams!!! What we gonna do?????
I, being the slightly insane individual I am, kinda liked the sleep test, but they had to give me something to get me to sleep. I kept laying there thinking, "I HAVE GOT TO GO TO SLEEP.....I CAN'T GO TO SLEEP.....I HAVE GOT TO GO TO SLEEP....I CAN'T GO TO SLEEP... I got my CPAP machine and I love it! I don't move at night and I don't snore anymore! I wake up in the exact same position, I lay down in! It's like I get konked in the head and out I go!!!
I am glad Jay is going with you. It will help. Jim hasn't been able to go to any support meetings with me, but we have watched several WLS programs on TV. He is getting FMLA for most of the month of January and is gonna go and stay with me the whole time - it's payback for when he had his bout with cancer!! I only hope that I will be as good a patient as he was!!
So bring your jammies and your toothbrush and I will see you at the party!!!
Smoochers,
Arlies
Way to go Rhonda... One step closer means alot!
My husband has never been to a support meeting (usually because he has our daughter) but I do wish he would because they dont really understand what we go thru.
I also love this website and the more we get the merrier we are.
Keep updating us.
