Nasty FCC people - WARNING

Hi guys, I usually do not use this board for this type of thing, but fingured the family needed to know. The FCC has authorized the release of cell phone numbers to telemarketers starting 01/01/2005. It is important for everyone to call to have your numbers put on the national DO NOT CALL list. What you do is call 1-888-382-1222. You MUST call from the phone you want to be blocked. You will be asked to confirm the number and within a couple of hours, you will be added to the list. You can also do this by internet at www.donotcall.gov. Don't let the telemarketers eat up the cell phone minutes YOU are paying for!! Dr. j

Hey Guys and Girls ! just wanted those of you who use CINGULAR know, that they do not plan on publishing any of the numbers, ever, UNLESS you call to REQUEST your number to be published. Cingular firmly believes in the customer's right to privacy and has no plans to publish cell numbers as this is proprietary information. I do know that there is a way for you to request being published if you call customer service and your area is offering this service. However, although the company will not sell your number, if you have given out your number to anyone in the past, such as businesses or offices, those third parties may sell your number and you may still get those calls, therefore yes, the do-not-call list is definitely a good idea to get on. Just a little input So definitely, go for it.. get on the list !! It wouldn't hurt ! ~Andie~
