Need some advice...

Hello Everyone, I need some advice on 2 different topics. First one in on plastic surgery. I sent in a request from Dr. Mani on adominalpasty and was denied. They claim the huge skin flap at my stomach is cosmetic. Go figure. Has anyone else dealt with this and if so what to I need ot do to include in my appeal that would convince these idiots that it is no cosmetic? Second topic is I have been diagnosed with anemia (again). This time is pretty low. My levels are at 8 when normally they should be 13. My hormones went crazy about 3 months ago and my menstral cycle lasted 3 weeks and was very heavy, My docotor says this is the main cause of the anemia. Only thing is after a month and tripleing my iron supplements and really adjusting my diet to include more iron, I have only increased my levels by 1 point. Does anyone have any additonal advice? I'm open to anything at this point. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year. I have told many people that this surgery saved my life. I had my surgery in April of 03 and to date have lost 190 pounds. I am greatful to all the health beneifits I have recieved from this surgery. I am beginning to date after many years of hiding and that is more scary the the durgery it's self. But I'm sure I can't be the only one dealing witht hese issues. Hey Kim, I don't know much in this area, Except- Make sure you don't take your iron Within 4 or 5 hours of when you take calcium. They interfere with one another. Also, taking Vitamin C along with your Iron Will improve its absorption. All I know. Check the main board for the Tummy Tuck Question. It may be that you need Demonologist's, And or Physical Therapist's Records showing that your (apron) Panniculus (sp?) Is causing you medical problems. Hope all works out for you! Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Kim! Congratulations on the weight loss! You have done awesome!! I have heard that if you can document rashes with your tummy flap, that you can get the tummy tuck. I have already told my surgeons that I have a time with rashes so hopefully..... You might want to copy your post and post it on the main board since there are alot of people there and have had more experience than most of us here. Let us know what you find out!
