Hi all newbie here!

Thanks Christine for telling me about this site. You guys seem really great around here. I belong to another board that just doesnt seem to have very much personality so I am gonna switch over here. So here is a little about me: I had open GBS Aug 17th of this year and I am currently down 72 lbs. I feel wonderful!! It truly was the best decision I have ever made in my life other than marrying my husband. lol lol BTW I am married 9 years to a wonderful man that treats me like a queen and tells me every single day how beautful I am and that was even before the surgery. lol lol We have been trying to conceive a child for over 8 years now with no luck what so ever so I am praying that after my 12 month mark is up we can start trying again. Well I guess that is all for now. I hope each and every one of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Glad to have found you guys and hope to be chatting often with each of you! Hey Denise!!! Welcome to the board!!! 72 lbs gone!! Wow!!!!! I am so glad for you! And I am very glad you found our board! We are excited whenever we get a newbie! I am pre-op and have a surgery date of Jan 11 at Keesler. Lemme tell ya something that will encourage you in your weight loss - baby collecting journey. I met and married my dh in 1983 shortly after losing about 110 lbs. I COULD NOT take the pill. So after being married in March, I got pregnant in August and proceeded to gain all the weight back and then some!!! Then in 1990, I went on a Bible Study weight loss thingie and lost about 80 lbs. TA DA!!! I got pregnant in February of 2001. 7 1/2 years with LITTLE or no protection except my fluffiness!!! (And yes, I was exposed to the possiblity quite regularly!) So BELIEVE when they say weight loss helps fertility. You hang in there with us! We are so glad you found us! Smoochers, Arlies

Hey Denise, I am so glad that you have decided to join us fun loving and crazy people here. We love to cut up around here. Get out your giggle box, you'll need it. About your weight loss, All I can say is WOW, WOOOHOOO, GREAT. You are on a ball there ain't ya. You Go Girl !!! You'll be a little ole thing before you can blink an eye. I also understand about the baby situation. We tried for 5 years. Heck Fire, I thought we were doing it wrong. I know that sounds crazy, but... we were doing everything the doctors said, what the books tell ya, even what other people suggested doing and STILL NOTHING.... Then after 3 months of fertility drugs, WOOOHOOO. But if it makes you feel any better, just know that you are not alone in that boat. A friend of mine is finally expecting her first baby in Feb. And they had been trying for 15 years... They decided to stop trying, and within a year, she got her wish. Or it could have been that they had just went out and bought at $30,000. car. You know I have heard it said that going in debt works great also. Now a little about me.... I am still doing all the nice, long, pre-op testing junk. Can you tell I'm excited about all this testing ? Anyways, maybe before the end of Feb. I'll see a date at least in view.

Hey Denise, Glad you have joined us here. I hate I missed seeing you guys last night at support group, but I had to have my gall bladder out and was still a bit under the weather. I had told Christine to fill everybody in if I didn't get to come. I hope to be there in January and catch back up. But this is a great site for communicating in between and gives a lot of support and encouragement. I go to the main board alot and read and get alot of useful information, too.
