Ok, and update on me!
Baby Girl,
You cheat all you want. I really don't call chewing and spitting it out cheating though. Thats just the smart way of satisfying the need for certain taste.
No parrot ??? Girl we are so much alike that it isn't even funny.
I wouldn't hurt one of my chickens for the world. I'd rather go hungry.
Could you see me telling Patrick, my partridge colored cochin.
"Now hold still (STOP EATTING OUT OF MY HAND) so I can ring your
pretty little feather covered neck (NO, I DON'T WANT TO PET YOU RIGHT NOW)
so that I can eat you".
I think not...
Cheating? what's cheating?
I guess what I' m trying to say is this.. we ALL have head hunger issued the first weeks outta surgery, it 's normal, I mean geez.. no matter how much someone prepares, if you get your stomach cut apart and cant eat what everyone else eats.. after DOZENS of years, you W I L L miss eating it and you will end up an emotional wreck trying to find a way to satisfy that urge. Did I cheat? Sure, took a bite of seafood linguine, chewed it.. spit it out. The taste - tease alone made me happy.
You can not look upon this surgery as a life long diet. It won't work that way, depriving yourself makes your urge even worse. The key to this surgery is "restrictive tool". Girls, let me tell you, I've overeaten twice now, once T'Giving and the other day at Applebees. The tool DEFINITELY works !! ughhhh !! I've been blessed with an iron stomach and I handle all foods well, chicken, beef, goes well. Pasta and bread sits in my pouch like a rock but won't make me sick either. But the hot flashes and cold sweats and the icky feeling.. I hate it !
The good news is i do NOT crave anything any more. I have no hunger and I can easily go all day FORGETTING to eat. I eat a bite of a real cookie and put it aside. No Problem. Rather than eating five sugar free ones?? yes??
Bottom line, your tool was given to you to use it as you need it. You make healthy choices if you can and once a week a bite of cookie or two spoonfuls of pasta won't negate your success. Dont be hard on yourselves, enjoy the tool you were given, just make sure you catch yourself before you fall into the old carb habits.
::: going to get my 3 -20 oz bottles of decaf peppermint tea and protein shake ready for the morning now so I can grab it and run to work::::
Love ya guys and don't be so hard on yourselves !!

Andie,
I sure hope I get a stomach like yours. I've seen my neice dump and get sick from eatting. And it isn't a pretty sight at all. Watching her makes me sick to my stomach and I haven't even had the surgery yet...
We need to start a new club.... The Chewin Spitters.
But Hey, What ever it takes to get past cravings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What about those who only eat the junk food that they loved before surgery ? And they really are not even making an affort to eat what they are suppose to eat. Isn't that really defeating the purpose of the surgery ? I mean this surgery isn't a cake walk by no means. So why would anyone want to have this surgery and not put forth at least the smallest effort of doing what is right, is beyond me. Those are the ones I'm talking about cheating.
Hey Tammy
Oh yeah in that case the word "cheaters" would fit . I don't get it either, there are a few people at work who are "cheaters" . They had surgery like at a bmi of barely 40 meaning they started out just above where I am now. Shucks.. at 231 lbs, I feel dang near normal, and I don't believe I'd have ever thought about surgery. Sure, I wanna now get down way below 200 but basically I am happy at this point already.
Those "cheaters" go around eating junk food and brag about it on top of it, even brag about being able to tolerate sugar. I can tolerate it BUT I choose not to eat it on a regular basis. I know what my hooks were before surgery and willpower still overcomes the cravings, since I vowed to NEVER let myself go again to gain weight and render my tool useless. I have had my inside plumbing re-routed and I'll be danged if I mess up my success now. We read about a few people in the news who claim it worked for the first years and then stopped working? Fact is, if you live healthy, you win. If you fall back to old habits, you'll lose. All I can say, if someone wants to make no effort to make it work, then they deserve to lose. Obviously sometimes, someone does get away with it and sees it for themselves as the easy way to cheat and lose. Sad ain't it? Don't know what kind of sadist would do that ( an extremely stupid one?? ), I agree with ya 100%
So, I hope you all have a very merry Christmas, and a happy New Year, I'm leaving xmas eve to go "home" to spend time with our family back home in Louisiana, and I'll make all of you in the "chewin spitters" club proud when xmas dinner comes around.
Love ya guys and happy holidays!
Hey Christine,
I agree we should change chat night too ,I came on last night too and didn't see any of ya'll on so I went on my merry way lol.Sorry you are having to worry about birth control I know that can be a drag and can definitley make the weight cling to you . I had my tubes cut, tied and burned as soon as my son was born ,so hubby missed the snip ,snip on that one lol but, they say it is lots easier on a man to get fixed than it it on a woman .
