I need answers

Okay, I called umc this morning and the lady that I talked with states that I can see dr. S but it will "be a while"::. Now my question, should I go somewhere else? Does anyone else take voc. rehab? This is a bunch of bull droppings!!! I got myself all excited and now it will be another year? Sombody please tell me what to do. Thanks

As far as I know they are the only ones who accept voc rehab. I am so sorry you guys have hit such a hard wall, but you do NOT give up. It may take time, but you will get there. I sure hope it will not be a year wait. Surely it will not be!!! God bless you Barbara

Hi Barbara, I am in the same place as you. I talked with Susan, in Dr. Salameh's office last week and I think it will be spring or summer before he can get to me. But, I really am not ready. My heart is still being checked. So I don't have a clearance yet. He is not taking any new patients until he gets all of Dr. Blake's surgery done. I can't advise you on changing doctors. That will have to be your choice. But, I wish you the best, whatever you choose. Smiles, Jan

What about Christine Claytons Dr. ??? Didn't she say one time that he would take it. Or was it that she has been approved through Voc Rehab..... ???? Dunno, won't hurt to ask though.

Barbara, Unfortunatly Dr. Whitehead is NOT taking Voc Rehab. They just dont want to pay the surgeons any money. The hospital that he does the surgery in does take Voc Rehab. If you can or are willing to pay the surgeon fee out of pocket maybe you can still use the hospital part of voc rehab. I dont know your situation but I know that what Dr. Blake did is BS. I am praying that it wont be a YEAR wait for you.

What Dr. Blake did is "BS" ??? BS= Boy Scouts BS= Booty Shake BS= Bobbie Socks OH I KNOW !!! .......................I get it... And you are completely right in that statement Sister. And since I'm sitting here typing this at 7:53am half out of my sleepy mind. Well, ok you caught me... completely out of my mind. Not only is what he did BS. He is full of it and should have to eat it also. BAD DOC... BAD. I swear I thought compassion for others was one of the quailities that you HAD to have in order to be a doctor. Guess not.....

You might want to check out some New Orleans Docs. I don't know if you can use the voc rehab from MS with them, but I'd ask. I know that Dr. S. is not taking ANY new patients until he gets Dr. B's caught up. So it will take a while if you stick with him. I wish I could take all ya'll to Keesler with me. Keep your chin up and we will keep our eyes and ears open and hope something turns up. Smoochies, Arlies
