O.K. I have been a little fatty for a while now but I did not know that my liver has been sneeking around too. I had to have a liver ultrasound done and I have a fatty liver. Will this cause them to postpone all of this process?

Nope, I have never done and ultrasound on an obese person who did not have a fatty liver. It goes with the weight. When you loose weight you will loose fat in the liver.(I was an xray tech before becoming disabled. I did Cat Scans, Ultrasounds, Mammograms, and regular x ray)

I didnt have an ultrasound but I am sure I had a fatty liver. There is a online surgery and you can see when they cut her open the liver is RIGHT THERE in your face. I imagine they want it to be small as possible to avoid getting knicked. THey will probably put you on some sort of low fat diet to shrink it some before surgery. Nothing to get postponed about though. Good luck--dont fret! Christine

I did not have problems w/ liver before WLS. However my liver enzymes were elevated for a couple of months about 3 months after surgery. PCP did not know what caused it . It corrected itself after we got my potassium and magnesium levels back in normal range. Good Luck.
