Hi Dx, congratulations to Ole Miss. Speech is my favorite subject. As a matter of fact, when I went to MC in 1991, my major was Speech Education. But, after the first semister I knew I needed to go with what was really in my heart. So at age 44, I began my course work in Special Education. This was the right thing to do. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and lifting you up in prayer. Smiles, Jan
Too late!!! I already had my nap....That's why God made Sunday afternoons - to nap!! Don't ya remember on the 7th day, He rested???
And if you read between the lines, you'll see it says, "He took a good Sunday afternoon nap and so should you." (yeppers, I am ducking the lightening!)
Well, all I can offer is that Conehatta won the world championship stick ball tournament for years and years and years. I don't know if they have it this year or not.......

ps...i love to talk and learn about the bible.
Yes, Saturday is the Sabbath, or seventh day, but like most things, like Christmas Day, we have chosen another day to celebrate it (Sunday). Christmas Day is not really Jesus' birthday, but it is a date we chose to celebrate it. I can't remember what month His birthday really is, but it seems like it's July or August, but I dunno for sure. And traditionally, Sunday (for Christians) was the day set aside to rest and worship the Lord. Quite a few religions do celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday, and they have got the right day....HOWEVER, the important thing is that we take a day to worship God and to rest....
BTW, time and our day naming (as well as the calendar system we use) system is a man-invention and truly the day that God rested could have been any day! We decided that Sunday was day 1 of the week....so it's all kinda relative....
Are we more confused now??? lol.....

PS Keeping studying That Good Book!!
PPS I asked Jon if he had seen The Passion of Christ. He replied he had not. I asked if he wanted to see it and he said, "Nope, I read the Book!"
Hey,
If I'm not mistaken, your right Jesus was born in the summer months.
Going by some of the signs in the Bible anyways. And you know, it is true that those calanders have been changed so much that like I said the in post to R.L.W. nobody except God knows which days are which.
But I know that you know that. DUH !!!
The main thing is that you believe in and worship God, if you are a Christian.
I do believe and I try to live right, and I would hate to know I PO'd God
Like I've heard people ask others all my life, "Just what are you going to tell God when he ask you where have you been and what have you been doing"? "I couldn't make it in time, I was busy, At the lake, At the mall, etc." ain't gonna cut it. God would tell me quick like. "I give you 24 hours and day 7 days a week and you can't give me 5 hours a week"?
But anyways, I'm not preaching to anyone and I'm not gonna try and preach to anyone. And I'm not saying that anyone else here is preaching either. But, I got my own sins to deal with. And religion is a very touchy subject in a forum place like this anyway.
Having said that.....
Sunday is the Sabbath, the Holy Day and the 7th Day in my family.
And we are gonna nap and rest all we want to on Sunday's
