I am on the other side!!
I had surgery at appro 7am on Tuesday and was released Wednesday. I have had no major problems, other than the trip home, it was pure hell. Poor husband got tongue lashing. But all is better now. Thanks for all of the well wishes they really helped me keep on track. A special thanks to Arlies. That is one woman that will go out of her way to track someone down. Thanks Again.
Vickie
Hey Vickie. You sound like you are doing great... Thats wonderful.
I am glad you posted because I wanted to ask you about your insurance. Didnt you have BC/BS of MS and they paid for this surgery? My dad and uncle have BC/BS of MS and are both interested in this surgery but have been hearing that they wont pay for it. What did you do and how did you get them to pay for it. I will fight tooth and nail with them for this. They both need it. My dad wants it so bad that he is willing to try voc rehab but I would rather him try his insurance first. He is not that big-he weighs 230 but is rather short. His BMI is 43. He needs it. Any info would be great.
Keep posting... How much have you lost so far?
Hey Vickie,
I have to apologize, I've been so wrapped up in my "vacation" this week, I've neglected this board. I was in New Orleans Wednesday, I could have easily stopped by but totally got lost in my little world
I know what you mean about the drive home. My surgeon demanded me staying in a nearby hotel for the first week, till my one week post op appointment, and I remember that drive just from the hospital to the hotel a few blocks away, the bumps in the parking lot and the potholes and the curbs ~~ OMG!! It was easy as cake once I made my one week, hubby drove me home from New Orleans to Pascagoula and I never felt any pain. One week made a huge difference !
Anyways, glad to see you 've made it to the other side! Do you plan on going to support meetings in Ocean Springs?
Let me know, maybe I can sneak off work and go meet you at one there, I just usually can't make it because I'm just such a workaholic
Take care, and remember, sip sip sip walk walk walk

OOOOOOOOOOOooo so glad to hear from you!!! Was that your voice mail I got the other day??? I am so dumb sometimes, I didn't remember where you were having surgery and some sweet lurker emailed me and told me to go read your surgery page! I THEN remembered that I already knew that!!! And you had left by the time I called down there! I am so glad you are home safe and sound!!!! Love ya!

Glad to hear you are doing so well. Congratulations on being on the other side!
I, too, am interested to know if you had BCBS of MS. They denied me and I am curious to see if they are going to start paying now.

And yes, if you don't want to be found, don't let anyone ever hire Arlies!! She found me too. Good thing is, I loved being found by her. She is a gem!!
Hello Vickie, I am so glad to see the GREAT report on you. You are on the good side now. Wow, that has got to be so exciting! Just take care of yourself and don't over do it. I too agree that Arlies is one very special lady. I am 10 years older than her and I told her she was the Queen Mother of the MS gang. Again, take care and do what the doctor says for you to do. Smiles, Jan Brown
