Well, I was given a going away party from the people here at work (tomorrow is my last day) and they wanted me to take the 1st piece of the ice cream cake. To be honest, I took about 3 small bites and was waiting for the "dumping" feeling, but nothing happened. Does this mean that sugar will not make me sick? But I want it to make me sick. I know that sounds silly, but I do not want to get in the habit of having sugar. I want it to effect me in some way. Anybody else not get sick because of sugar?

Hi Keri , Yeah, that's me, I don't get sick from Sugar. I wish I would!! I recently had dinner at some friends' house and they had some sugar free desserts as well as "normal" ones. I asked which one of the things were sugar free and was told by the hostess' husband.. so I took a nice slap of Cheese Cake and munched away on it. I only ate like a third of a piece before thinking WHOA.. this is good stuff, and I filled my pouchy up and was all happy, thinking I gotta get that recipe.. once I got around to asking the hostess... she says OMG.. the sugar free cheese cake is still in the fridge So I ate pure sugar, and I never got sick, never and waited for that dumping feeling and nothing happened. It doesn't surprise me because I tolerate all foods well, but it does kind of upset me, I had hoped for a sensitive pouch that would prevent me from having sugar for eternity. I still dont like sugary stuff though, I find it too sweet these days and never have any cravings, so that's a plus. By the way, we CAN have sugar, just gotta have it in SMALL amounts, no more eating a whole bag of gummi bears Take care ! ~~ Andie ~~

Honey, You are cleaning & washing the new off of it... I don't blame you, I'd do the same thing. Well, no not really since I can't actually do all of that fun stuff yet. But, I would try to have my DH out there doing it. Not that he would, but it is a nice thought huh? I hope we get to chat Saturday night. Tomorrow is my big ole 37th Birthday and we will be out tomorrow night with my parents, so Saturday we (me, hubby, child) will be doing something (according to them anyways). But they are just going to have to get me home early enough to be with yall some also. Talk Soon, Tammy

NO! Not washing the " new" off of it, it's not new, its nused Its already a few years old, a 97 actually, so therefore I am washing off the grunge and the "previous owner smell" . But its in super condition, just needed a little touching up to bring it up to MY own personal standards and did I mention I love it?? I got it shiny and slick like a mirror, and I think I may put a few more coats of wax on tomorrow So you're 37 tomorrow, eh? Girl, I'm right behind you, well ALMOST hehe. I'm gonna hit 36 come February. Have a good day tomorrow, eat to your heart's content and have fun with your family ! It may be a while before you can do all the fun foods again -- just in a much smaller amount, and sometimes it's a little sad that you can't eat more, but hey, it's a small price to pay, I find, for a bright outlook on another 30, 40 maybe 50 years? I'll have to get up at 5 am just to post a happy birthday note now thank goodness I'm on vacation all week Talk to you later! Andie

Good Morning.... I havent even attempted to eat cake yet and I wont for a long time. I had some honey bunches of oat cereal and I dumped really really really bad. It doesnt have near the sugar that cake does. However, I bought the wrong protein shakes one day and it had like 21g of sugar in it. I drank it before I realizeed it and I didnt dump. So.... I dont know. I also had some SF ice cream made with splenda and I dumped really bad. I am starting to think I am like Dex and dump on Sugar Alcohols. Cause it had a good bit of it in the ice cream and only like 2g of Sugar. I dont know what to tell you other than DONT TEMPT YOUR BRAIN. Dont even try to eat anymore. Maybe you didnt enough sugar in you to matter. We can handle a little just not ALOT... I think my doc said less than 5g a day. All our bodies are different. Keep the sugar away!

Keri, I have decided that when (if?) I have this surgery and am on the other side, I WILL DUMP on sugar. I am so afraid that I won't that I am making my decision now!!! lol.....If you don't crave it, don't eat it, it might bring back the cravings....NEXT time you WILL dump!!!, The queen decrees!!!! Smooch Arlies

HAHA...thanks Arlies. I wasn't really craving it, it was just that 30 people were looking at me waiting to cut the cake, so i took an extremely small piece and took about 3 extremely small bites. So I guess Christine is right, maybe I didn't have enough sugar to dump. I'm not tempted by sweets at all really, not really "tempted" by anything. I have told this stubborn mind of mine that I am to get protein first and have promised my dad that I will treat my body right. He saw some program on tv about a girl that had wls but didn't take her vitamins or eat right and she is very, very ill, so that worried him about me. And YOU WILL HAVE THIS SURGERY!!! What doctor have you been consulting with?
