The Queen Waxes Philosophical....
Hey gang,
I don't know how many of you are country music fans, but I LOVE to watch CMT because some of the videos are terrific! And some of those men are YUM!!! Anyhow, a few years back I was listening to the radio on the way home from a meeting in Jackson and I heard this song and fell in love with it. This is my wish for my children and for everyone I know. It just kinda sums up my good wishes for the world.....and since it is the season of good cheer and all things good, I thought I'd share.....
Signed
The Queen
I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance..........
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance,
Livin' like me, takin' chances, but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin',
Don't let some Hell bent heart leave you bitter,
If you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years
and wonder where those years have gone.)
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
Dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance..
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years
and wonder where those years have gone.)
Arlies--- This song is beautiful. I have always loved this song and at the end when the guys say "Tell me who wants to look back on their years
and wonder where those years have gone" just really tugs at me. That is my favorite part and I play that part over and over and over. The song is for my daughter--that line is for me!
Another song I found inspirational was Bring on the Rain by Jodee Messina esp in my desperate stressful times with insurance.
http://icelady.org/BringOnTheRain.html to hear it...
Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war ('cause)
Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain
It's almost like the hard times circle 'round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead
Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain
I'm not gonna let it get me down
I'm not gonna cry
And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight
