I think I'm changing
I have been thinking this whole thing out about Dr. Blake. If his clinic cannot tell us when he might come back, then are we to assume that we need to go elsewhere? I am really sick of this. You cannot get a straight answer from anyone up there. I realize that it is his private thing but at least tell us if we should go somewhere else. Give me a break.
What are all of you Dr. Blake people doing?
One of my patients has already completed all but one step with Dr. Salhma and her first visit was in the first week of November.
If the reason he is out is so private, that he nor any of his staff would not tell me that would be all I would need to know. If he can not share with his patients why he is out, then he is hiding something.
I worked for a dr who took off for a couple of months and he mailed a letter to everyone of his patients and told them the TRUTH!!!!!
I just dunno.....I am looking into going to Keesler and have an appointment with them on Thursday. As I told Christy, I am not getting any healthier sitting around and waiting and worrying.....I truly believed that Dr. Blake was the doc for me, but I think maybe God has other ideas...And my biggest concern is there is no time frame for his return....So me thinks do what is best for YOU.....

Hello Barbara,
I think you are making a good choice by finding a new surgeon.
I personally don't have anything against Dr Blake but it just seems unprofessional for a Dr and (or) his employees not to be more honest with his patients.
Seems like to me he is hiding something too, just like Donna said. And if I was his patient and awaiting surgery, after all this run around and no one being honest with me, then I surely wouldn't want him touching me. This surgery is high risk surgery anyway. And I would feel like he was not capable of doing surgery on me, if he can't even be honest with his patients.
But, that's my point of view!
Good Luck and May God Bless you in whatever decisions that you make!

I agree with Jo. I think it is rude, disrespectful, and very hurtful to do this to your patients. He and his staff have left everyone hanging and its not kosher!
I still believe something is up with his practice. I dont think he is out on family emergency.
Good Luck Barbara and Arlies. Go with your gut and its my gut feeling that this happened for a reason and its not meant for you all to have this surgery under him. By 2 cents.
Hey, This is a re-ply post that I had put on another board. The original post was questioning if anyone knew anything about Dr. Blake. Then another lady said in her own post that everyone needs to chill out and stop being hard on him. Well, this is what I said to her. I feel like this says it all on my feelings about it. Just in case you don't really understand what I'm saying, I'll put it in plain simple english for you and anyone else that may be reading this.
If I were his patient I would be thinking...........
GET OUT NOW. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. HIS TRUST VALUE IS GONE.
I am not bashing Dr. Blake, nor do I intend to join in on a bashing of him. Just telling the facts for what I know and then leaving it alone. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. You have to make your own choices.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~THE LETTER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't think anyone is being hard on Dr. Blake. If anything they
are telling the truth about him. Now, its true that the truth does
hurt. And the hurt from the truth is what makes it look like we are
being hard on him.
Doctors do cancel appointments from time to time. But do they keep
canceling all of their appointments for several months in a row ???
I don't think so. I may be wronge, but I doubt it. And its not like
they only canceled a few. We are talking months in advanced. So that
right there is a give-away that something is going on.
As far as him or his staff reading what we are saying. I hope they
are. Maybe we will get answers. Then maybe he will see what he is
doing to himself. He has caused people to loose faith and trust in
him. With those things gone, who is going to want him as a doctor
like that ? I'm not. If my doctor can't be trusted, he isn't going
to be my doctor.
I've gone to the support group meetings at the UMC, and Dr. Salameh
was there. He answered questions, and talked one on one with people.
And he is also having to take up the slack that Dr. Blake left him
with.
It is easy for you to say that you would wait, don't be hard on him,
he is a good doctor, etc. Heck, you have already had your surgery.
Put yourself in someone elses shoes. Say you have been well over a
year trying to get all the testing done, your down to getting a
surgery date. You have 3 days till your appointment to get the date.
The phone rings, it is his office calling to cancel the appointment.
You ask when will it be reschedualed, they tell you they have no
idea. They have no idea of when your doctor will be back in the
office. You ask them, is something wronge with him, they tell you
they don't know what any of the answers are. And you get that same
answer over and over and over. So there you are.... Mentally and
physically ready to have this surgery. And not nary a way of getting
it done, because his staff keeps telling you that you need to wait
on him. That he will be back, they just don't know when. They can't
even narrow it down by months yet.
That puts it in a different light huh?
I pray for him. I want him to come back to work and be able to
continue to do the good that he has done in the past. I pray that
whatever the reason is that he is out, is a simple one. No problems
what so ever. I don't wish him any bad luck on anything.
But, I also pray for my friends and family that are going to use
him. I pray that if they are going to go ahead and use him once he
gets back, provided that he comes back, that he performs the best
surgery ever on them. That they never have one problem.
I'm not meaning to be hard on you or anyone else.
We just want answers, we want our surgeries. And most of all we want
our trust and faith in Dr. Blake back. Thats all.
Faith and Trust are things that have to be earned.
And you have to work at keeping them.
