Moving to Keesler

I had surgery on 16 Nov. We are stationed at Offutt in Nebraska and have orders to Keelser in Biloxi. I will be moving in May. Can anyone give me input on the WLS suppor in that area. Thanks, Michelle

Hey Michelle!!! Welcome to Mississippi!!! When do you move? My dh is retired USAF and we started out at Keesler....I don't know about the meetings down there, but we do have some members down there. The bariatric surgery nurse at Keesler is Lisa and her number is 228-377-8524, and she should be able to tell you if they have a support group on base or nearby. Please keep us posted on your move and arrival and if we can help, let us know. We do a chat on Saturday nights at 8 pm CST, if you'd like to join us. If so, download the Yahoo messenger and add arliesk (arliesk@yahoo) as a contact...That's me...then instant message me when you sign on Saturday night and I will invite you into the conference room with us. Hi Michelle Yeah, I'm that " chatter from Pascagoula " Arlies was hinting at I know there is a support group in Ocean Springs, their hospital specializes in WLS and I can get you the info on their dates/ times. I never make it to their meetings because my job keeps me there from 830 am till 8 pm Monday thru Friday These guys here on the MS board are my support group, as well as my family. I know we'll still be here in May, so if you need a little support, PLEASE feel free to call me, I'll be over in a jiffy to help. I know they do gastric bypass at Keesler, call them if they have any groups there as well. I 'm not sure as to how long we will be here, with the Navy decomissioning all of the ships on my husband's base, we may be outta here next summer, for all we know at this time, no ETA though. This is a nice place to live, I like the Gulfcoast, the beaches, the casinos, the people. You'll enjoy it !! Just make sure you sell all them "cold weather clothes" at a garage sale before you come here. You wont need them!! Good luck and we're looking forward to having you with us!!
