Went to the opthamologist on Friday who told me that I will have to wait 6-9 months until they will perform surgery to correct my eye. That means I have to be off work for the rest of the school year for sure, that I have to wear an eye patch for that much longer. I am trying not to get depressed but it is hard. I want my life back!!!! Leg is healing nicely and I should be walking by Christmas. HALO comes off on December 22 provided the neck has healed. From what the neurosurgeon told me, it is healing properly. For so many months the WLS consumed my life. I gave up so much of my life waiting for this surgery to happen and thinking of nothing but. I regret now that I didn't just go on enjoying my life, even though I was overweight. I feel like I gave up a lot of my time that could have been so productive. Thanks again for all of your support and well-wishes. I love you all. Kitsy I am praying for all of you who are approaching surgery, awaiting a surgery date, or are looking for a surgeon to help you. All of you post-ops are in my prayers too!

Hey girlie! I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. I think about you all the time and I am keeping you in my prayers. You were one of my biggest supporters when I started all of this and you are one of the strongest people I know! Please keep your head up! This IS NOT the end of the world...God just needed to slow you down for some reason or another! I love you! Kristi

Hi Kitsy. It is unfortunate that I am new to the boards, but I do know Arlies and Kristi. I know them well enough to know that their regard for you suggests the strength of character that is commendable. I do believe that everything in life happens as a part of a greater plan. That you have been able to manage not only the demands of WLS and the challenges of your injury simply show that you are truly an extra-ordinary woman. To have doubts during trials is only human. To overcome those doubts and come out the other side shows you to be a true survivor. You will overcome this obsticle, you are over half-way there. Allow youself to be realistic in your down times, but always balance it out. Remember, you have to be your own best friend sometimes. You are really the only one that you have no secrets from. Hang in there, Dr. G

Hello Kitsy, I am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time of it .I can't sit here and say that I know what you are going through , I just pray it passes soon.I am so thankful that you will be getting your halo off soon,I remember how my little brother looked just before he died ,he had one of those on and he looked so uncomfortable ,I just wanted to yank him free of it, but bless his heart he could'nt feel anything from his face down, (that never dawned on me at the time though),if he would have survived he never would have walked again due to damage his spine suffered.I thank God that is not the case with you...........Sherry.....
