Well folks, I think I have hit the mother of all plateaus. I just went and weighed today for the first time in 5 weeks.... STILL THE SAME WEIGHT! Man, I expected a lapse in weight loss at some point but this is rediculous. I guess i'm just gonna have to hit the walking track, hernia and all, no matter how much it hurts. I ain't near finished losing all the weight i want to loose. Guess I'm really gonna have to work my ass off for these last 137 lbs. Oh well. lemme head to the track. Jimmy Now...lemme see...where did I put my walking shoes??

EEEEK!!! No change in 5 weeks??? What is wrong with you!?!??! OK TIME OUT, I'M TOTALLY KIDDING! You'll be fine, I promise. I won't throw out a bunch of cliches like "your body is just trying to catch up", or "it's water weight", or "plateaus are gonna happen". I'm sure you've heard them all before. But, the scale will start moving again, I promise. I really haven't hit a plateau yet, but I'm sure I will. I guess we should all expect it. We just have to continue to do what we've been taught. BTW, I got one of those Arby's low carb wraps you talked about the other day...very good, thank you for the tip. I wonder if they will let me order a 1/8 of one next time cause that's about all i could eat, HA. Take care of yourself! Keri

Hey Jimmy, Not to worry, I hit so many Plateaus, I thought of "My Journey" as a terraced landscape. If it doesn't break soon, try dropping back to liquids For a couple of days and then advance your diet The way you did before. Also watch out for those Low-Carb wraps. They've got a high calorie count. The Low-Carb deal only works if you're Keeping the grams of Carbs below 40 a day In order to keep your system in Ketosis. Below 20 grams of carbs a day to get it started. But the walking will help a lot too. Best Wishes- Dx

YOUR GONNA PICK IT BACK UP. Wanna start walking or something. I will walk with you. I havent really been exercising cause I dont want to do it by myself. Tommy and I walked around the block today while we were on break. You can go with us. We are gonna do it everyday (maybe several times a day). Hubby and I are planning on getting each other bikes for XMAS and start riding on the Rails to Trails. I have been wanting to do that. I think our support group gets together and walks at the park. Thats an idea too. THey say pick up your protein and water when we plateau. I have stalled again at 26 pounds. Do you feel inches still coming off? I think I may put myself back on liquids every 2 days or something. We gonna be alright!

Jimmy, Another thing. I just found this Plateau Buster- In my files. I used this to break my last few. Plateau Buster- #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily. Thought this might help- Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Dex... It really is nice that I work with Jimmy. If it werent for him having this surgery - I never would have even thought about it. It inspired me. I feel lucky to have someone this close to me that I can talk to that has had it. It was hard at first cause Jimmy was out of work for so long and the people at work were fussing at me for wanting this surgery. "Look what happened to Jimmy, Your gonna be off for 5 months...BLAH BLAH BLAH" But, during all my initial stuff I called Jimmy while he was out on leave still and talked about it. That was before I found this site and didnt know ANYONE else to talk to about it. There are a few others at work I would like to see get this surgery and I am so glad I recouperated so well. They come up to me and ask me about it. I hope I inspire them in some way. Maybe more down the line as I lose more weight. One in particular who doesnt even know how much she weighs because the scales wont go up that high. Be prepared to walk tomorrow Jimmy -- we comin to get ya!! I did meet my first goal - Tommy, a very dear coworker, weighs more than me now.... I used to weigh more than him... He was not happy when we weighed. We weigh in the back on the press scales. They are very accurate. I feel blessed to have the support here and at work. Did I tell yall that one of my other coworkers bought me a matching bra and panty set (never had one) --Its a size 12 and its leopard print. I loved opening it and have it hanging in my closet waiting til I can wear it. Its an inspiration too... HAHA--hubby is like "come on --drink that shake-consume tha****er--exercise, exercise"... Ha... hes a dork!
