Post-Op Support Group?

Hi everyone, I'm Jim, (385/180) - 200 pounds gone forever, feeling GREAT, RNY type surgery, and moving to Brookhaven soon. Is there an ongoing support group in this area? I have found that the sharing of new information re: diet and weight rebound, the encouragement of others "in the same boat", and the excitement of finding new products and vitamins on the shelf which are consistent with my abnormal dietary requirements have become a part of my life. I Need Support From Others To Maintain!!

Hey James!! Glad to have a new Mississippian!! You will find us a lively, lovely, good-hearted group! I don't know about Brookhaven itself, but Jan Brown, our Brookhaven girl comes to the UMC meetings in Jackson - normally the 3rd Tuesday of the month. I always post when I get the info about the support meeting. It is open to any and all. Also there is a support group in Hattiesburg that meets in/near Forest General, Christine Clayton or Jimmy Brannon can give you more details about that. There is also a support group in Meridian on the 2nd Monday of the month...that's probably too far, but if you want to come we will get directions to you... Our MS board group also chats on Saturday nights at 8 pm. Download Yahoo messenger and add [email protected], then when you sign on for the chat, IM me and we will add you to the conference room and you can visit with us all. Hey James!! UMC Support Meetings are 3rd Tuesday of the month. Meridian Support Meetings are 2nd Monday of the month. Hattiesburg Support Meetings are 3rd Monday of the month. I am in Hattiesburg and I attend all the Hattiesburg support meetings. I am excited that you found Obesityhelp.com. I LOVE IT! 200 pounds?!?!?! Thats fantastic! WIsh I could lose half that. Hello Jim, I am so sorry I didn't respond last night but I just found your post. Welcome to Brookhaven. Yes, we do have a support meeting here. It is the 1st Monday of the month. We meet in the education bld. at King Daughter's Hospital. I am listed, Janice Brown in the phone book. Please call me and I will be glad to give you all the directions.
