Hi this is Kim, I am Melynda's best friend. Melynda just got home from the hospital, and we are thrilled to have her home. She is doing well and sitting up, with a minimal amount of pain at this point. She wanted me to advise you to beware of traveling nurses at umc. They are not very nice. Espeacilly beware of night shift. She did wind up with one very nice nurse named Tracey for monday and tuesday that was very helpfull and very sweet to us. She wanted me to thank you for the phone calls and words of encouragement, they meant a lot to her. She will post more about her experience later.

Kim, Thank for the update hun! Yeah the night shift nurses at UMC is not all that great. But the Doctors are great, my son is living proof of that, and so am I. If it was not for them neither me nor my son would be here. Well enought about that! I am so glad that everything went well and she is home safe and sound and not in much pain! I am very very anxious to join her on the losing team! Me and my family will contunue to keep her and her family in our prayers! Please tell her to get plenty of rest and get well soon! God Bless, Angie Bea

Hi everyone. Sorry I have not posted sooner, but I have been slow in recuperating. I am doing great now though. The soreness is about gone since I finally made myself get up and start walking outside around the carport. I was having a lot of shortness of breath that I had to work out of there. I have not weighed myself, whereas the Hospital didn't weigh me and I haven't felt much like going to my Mom's house to do so, however that sounds like a good thing for me to do today to get out of the house. I hate to ask an embarrassing question, but how long was it before some of you post op had a bm? I had my first one today after going 7 days without one. I drank some cranberry juice and they moved bigtime, prior to that I was having major stomach cramps that I though was gas pains. I am so glad I went ahead with my decision now to have this done. Sorry I have been a big baby as far as the recuperation process, but I would go back and do it all over again in a heartbeat. The surgical team of docs at UMC are totally wonderful and not bad looking at all, even the young ones are very professional and caring.
