Isopure Dutch Choc
I bought it today. $59.95. It is a giagantic tub of it. Takes 2 scoops per 12 0z of milk.
Taste: very good. Has a little after taste but is much better than chocolate slimfast.
Carb countdown milk: $2.29 for a half gallon at walmart. slimy like boiled okra. very nasty to me
I mixed the Isopure with the carb countdown milk and it was good. The shake sat very heavy on my stomach. It beats the heck out of slimfast choc to me. Very filling and better taste.
I also got some whey protein in strawberry. I will post when I taste it.
The lady at GNC said that was the only size that it came in. So if you want to try it before buying it let me know.
One shake has 50 grams of protein too!!!!!!!!
I could not even eat dinner after drinking that shake. It had me full to the gill. My son even cooked my favorite meal and I could not even eat one bite of it.
Hey y'all
I've bought one of them huge tubs of isopure dutch chocolate and started pushing protein pre-op upon my surgeon's advice. I drank two shakes a day to "stock up" on protein in my system. I loved the isopure, even with skim milk. Then I had surgery and my taste buds got very sensitive to the aftertaste. The drink itself tastes good, I just can't handle the aftertaste any more and eventually switched to something that , in my opinion, has no aftertaste. We're all different.
Carb Countdown milk.. haven't tried the regular kind, only tried chocolate and its very thick and rich, didn't care for it too much. To me, regular skim milk is just a little lower in protein and I can handle it better, since I eat real foods without issues, I don't fret about the protein any more, but I would do the carb countdown if I had problems with protein intake.
One thing you might want to try is the new Matrix 5.0 protein shakes, BariatricEating.com carries them, I think they have samples too, the vanilla and chocolate are delicious. Personally I love my Unjury, but again, this is a matter of taste. Vanilla with half a banana and skim milk.. my twice-a-day fix
