What a wonderful feeling. Yesterday was a really good day for me. I finally drove my car (hubby previously hid keys)--I went to doctor and they removed staples (no pain) - lost 16 pounds according to their scales and am down 6 inches. They say I am doing great. I was cleared for soft foods (couldnt have come at a better time)....I ate a small mashed potato and after about 5 bites was full--wanted one more bite and Barf o rama... I was very happy that I barfed. It was good to know that in fact my pouch was small. You cant really tell while your on liquids. For supper we stopped at taco bell - I ordered a bean burrito and sucked the beany part out of half of it. Gave the rest to my birds. Things are looking up. I am happy. Support group meeting was wonderful as always. I truly enjoy them. They mean alot to me to talk to people who know what its like. However, the majority of them say they didnt want food after surgery - wheras I did and still do. I can honestly say though that it is getting better. I didnt eat those potatoes until 2 and the burrito guts at 8. Getting out of the house will be good for me. My nurse thinks by my next appt in 3 weeks I will be down 35-45 pounds. Oh I hope so!! Yall are a great group of folks... I dont know where I'd be without this board. Christine

Christine, Unfortunately, I was under the weather when you went for your surgery and I didn't get to wish you luck. Glad you didn't need mine!! I am so glad it is over for you and you are losing so nicely! This surgery is a wonderful tool and will totally change your life, if it hasn't already! I have an enlarged stoma which allows me to eat more than a normal gastric bypass patient. I have to be very careful or I overeat and get very sick! Be glad your pouch knows when to say when! Since being in the hospital, I believe my pouch has shrunk, as I can't eat what I did before going in. I have lost 14 pounds since the wreck on Sept. 22 for a grand total now of 82 pounds!!!!! I feel incredible. I cried the night of the wreck because they cut my brand new size 12 jeans off me!! I loved those. They made me look so little!!! LOL Fortunately, I loved the cut of those so much that the day of the wreck, I went to Gap and bought them in a size 10 so I would have them. Those babies are gonna fit when I get well, if they don't already fit now. I am so proud of you for doing so well. Keep up the good work, you LOSER you!! Kitsy

I am glad YOU are ok. I heard about the accident. That sucks about your jeans. Haha... 82 pounds since April? Wow! Your kicking butt and taking names! Thats fabulous. I hope to be down 82 pounds in 6 mos. I would be real close to goal. Your an inspiration. Thank you for the support. It was kinda intense there for a little bit. I am trying my best to control it (head hunger).. I am hoping it will just keep getting better. I am glad you are back and doing well. Keep us updated!
