Hello to everyone. First post in a while. As with most of you all, I am in the stages of getting all my ducks in a row for surgery (but not surgey date yet). I had a funny EKG and had to have it done again and now Dr. C wants me to see a heart cardio specialitst. That is Oct 26. Anyone had to have something like this done???? My EKG has a funny bleep on the left side. My GP said that this is evident and common with heavy people and people with HBP. The cardio people were nice but only could tell me what they might do. They will get a copy of the EKG before my appointment and them decide what they will do. Seems like she said they may to a "nuclear test" or possibly a treadmill stress test. Anyone had anything like this done???????? I work out on an airdyne and go 12 miles in 45 minutes as my main form for exercise. Only other type of exerrcise is "jumping to a conclusion". My DW and I have been married 4 years today. She will get flowers at about 10 this morning. Best wishes to all of you on you journey. I enjoy the web page because I see I am not the only one with the delays and hassle if it all. God bless Ralph

Hello Ralph The nuclear thing is like a strsss test in that you feel breathless and your heart is really getting pumped up. BUT is it all done with meds while lying down. My mom doesnt' like it--she said it feels like your going to have a heart attack. People do it all the time though. God speed and let us know how it goes. Jane

Hey Ralph!!! Happy anniversary!!! Ann Burkes asked about you the other day! I told Dex we had another MAN on here!!! You need to come out more often! We have started chatting on Saturday nights at 8 pm. Download yahoo msnger and add me [email protected] and IM me when you sign on and we will invite you into the conference room! I don't know anything about any of the questions you asked, but I can sympathize with the delay...all Dr. B's appts and surgeries are canceled until further notice....sigh.... smoochers! Arlies

Ralph, Great to see another Guy out here. We make up the minority of people who have this surgery But tend to be the most successful at reaching our goals quicker. This has to do with male physiology rather than will power. I'm pretty sure the ladies have us beat there. Hope you make it through your Pre-Op hurdles Smoothly. So many out here have a devil of a time Just to get approved. I had some Heart issues prior to surgery (profile) And after, but I'm the rare exception to the "norm." Just know that medicine has gotten a lot better In the last ten years, and they can pretty much Pull off miracles on a daily basis, no matter what The problem might be. Keep us posted and we'll keep you in our prayers- Best Wishes-

Hi Ralph. Just read your post and I'm impressed. 12 miles? ........... makes me feel like a big lazybug now with my three measly miles a day Good luck on that test and hope you get that surgery over with real soon. Say HI and happy anniversary to the wife, I'm sure she's excited too, she'll have a "NEW" hubby in a year... someone asked my husband a few days ago what happened to his wife.. they thought we split up and he got him a new woman. I laughed at it, if I left him with the kids, he'd NEVER have enough time for any other women !! What a great guy, you sending her flowers. What sweetie! Keep it up! Good luck!! Andrea
