I am home!!

Hi Everyone! I am Home!! It feels good to be home but man one more night at the hospital would have been nice. Special thank you to my Kristi--your support was amazing. I really appreciate EVERYTHING you have done for me!! More special thanks to Tammy, Arlies Q, and Angie B... You alls phone calls were great. I am so glad I got to talk to yall... Its great knowing that you all care. I cant wait until I can call and check on yall. Your turns are coming soon. I am praying for you all! This was one expiereince that I would do again given the results. The pain is almost unbearable at some points but it slowly goes away. The first 2 days were awful. I was in bad shape. I had problems breathing and so I had respitory therapy coming in my room every hour at first and then by the time I left it was only every 6 hours. I had to breath in a spirometer thing and it was so hard to get it up to 1000. Then they always wanted me to cough. That was probably the worst part. It hurt so bad.... I was pretty drugged up the past few days and I am not sure what all I rambled about or said so if it was off the wall or weird I apologize. I appreciate all the phone calls and posts and I am glad I have you all. I went and bought a scale today and got me some more soup and stuff. I have been dreaming about food. Its weird. I go to sleep and dream about mcdonalds hamburgers and chicken nuggets. I hated Mcdonalds. I watched the food chanell on the 3rd day and was starving by the time I got my chicken broth (which by the way was wonderful)... Its all head hunger. I dont feel hungry. I have been sipping on a slim fast for the past few hours. I am up to 4 ounces an hour. I have to get 48 ounces in a day of liquids other than water (preferably with protein)--then I have to get 64 ounces of water in. Its gonna be weird. I have to constantly be drinking something. I am still wearing my binder but I have 27 staples in my stomach. I go next Monday to get these out. Does this hurt???? I am glad to be back. If you want to email me please do so. Most of the staples you will not even feel when they remove them. The ones you will feel that are painful are mostly the ones that one side is deeper than the other side. But I have had staples with every surgery including the liver sugery where I had the same incision as open wls, and I even took mine out myself when I had liver surgery, so you know that it can not be bad at all.(worked in surgeons office and did that along with xrays) They are no big deal at all. So glad you are doing so good.

Hey Christine I'm sooooooooo glad that your home and are doing so well. I do wish your pain would hurry and go away, and with time it will. When I called, I really didn't think you were rambling at all. But you know with the pain meds they had you on, and if you felt like talking, Honey all I can say is TALK. Say WHATEVER you want. After that ordeal you earned it. As far as staples go, when I had them from my hysteroctomy (way down low) they really were not that bad being removed. Just one or two kinda stung a little. I think with me, it was more fear of pain, than the pain. But anyway, I'm glad your back with us. It is so nice to see your smiling face and hear your upbeat "voice". If there is anything I can do, just let me know. Oh one thing, with all that drinking that you are doing, dreams of McDonalds, loosing all that weight. Please don't "float" off to McDonalds in your sleep. Nobody would ever think of finding you there

Hey Sweetpea!!! Ah, home and it's all behind you!!! That's grand!!! Pulling staples doesn't hurt...a few may feel like they are pulling a hair out, but not all of them feel that way...most you don't feel at all... so don't be skairt!!! Oh, btw, I don't know what you told the others Saturday on the phone, but you told me that you were sending me a bazillion dollars so I have been standing at the mail box waiting!!!! Nope, you were pretty coherent by Saturday...the other days...well, I'm not so sure Not to worry when we have our turn, you can make fun of us!!!! Smoochies, Arlies

I am so glad you made it through as well as you did. Looks like I may be next on the list. If you think of any pointers you can email me between now and Friday, I would love to hear from you. Seems to get better every day from what I understand so the worst part must be behind you. No one has mentioned anything to me about a binder, is this something I need to pick up before going to the Hospital, or will they give me one? Hey Melynda... They give you the binder. Its not terribly bad just itchy underneath. I AM EXCITED FOR YOU!! Get plenty of rest. It is getting better for me but its still hard to sleep cause of the soreness. Im not getting all my water in. Its so hard to drink all of it and drink all of those shakes. I want to eat!! Fixing to go shower. Good luck to you!!
