RIP: Ben and Toby
Ya'll it has been a rough week at the King household...roughest on Em, but also rough on the rest of us....
Ben, Jon's pet rat (yeah, I know, me either!) was left in Em's care when he moved into the dorm at MCC. He passed away Wednesday or Thursday....He was an old rat about 3 years old and rats don't live that long. Jon was okay about it when I called him, because he figured Ben did not have alot of time left due to his age, and Em was upset but nothing like what followed.....
Yesterday, our dearest Tobias Alan King passed away. He was the supreme ruler of the King household and owned Em. He used to be a HUGE, EMORMOUS Kitty-cat, but had been sick for a while - we suspect feline leukemia- We got Toby about 8 years ago and he was about 2 then...His "brother" Jacob Thomas King aka Jake passed away from kidney disease in 2000. Toby LOVED Em with all his heart and she loved him so...we are all broken up over Toby and Em is taking it extra hard....I know that Toby and Jake are having a great time in kitty-cat heaven, but this is like losing a family member......Toby was the King of all cats, much loved and will be much missed....we are heart-broken....
Smoochers,
Arlies

Ms Arlies,
I'm sooo sorry. I know Em is heart broken. As well as she should be.
I understand what she is going through.
Last year I lost my dear kitty after having him for 18 years.
But Bless His Heart, he was about 1-2 years old when I got him.
So he was ready to go.
I wasn't ready for him to go, but I know it was his time.
I better stop now, I'm crying missing my baby Snoball.
Please tell Em that I'm soooo sorry and if she needs an understanding, been there person to talk to, to call me.
arlies and em
deepest sympathy for your great loss. we lost smokey cat earlier this year and chester last year. both were my babies. i still have freckles and a new kitten named bug man. it takes someone who looks at the animals like they were children to understand the loss. but, they are in kitty heaven, a much better place, and they are waiting for you. and in kitty heaven all animals play together. hughs and kisses
