Can you please post what psych you used and how long of a wait it was to see him/her. I talked to Arlies dr, but he is not a medicare approved dr. (Just meaning he did not jump thru a million hurdles to be able to get medicare to pay). I really wanted to use him since he gave such a great deal to all of you who were self pay. booohoo My letter was mailed out today from Dr Cleveland's office so all I need now is to get my pre op test. I appreciate any referals you have. I have never been to a psych so I have no idea who would be good to do this FAST.

Donna, I used Dr. Hawks, in Jackson. I'll email you the number tomorrow, or you can call Jeannie at Dr. Clevelands office she gave me the numbers. I called one day and the next day she called me back herself(Dr. Hawks) and got me setup with an appointment for that Saturday. I liked her alot, you have to take a test, since you live closer to Jackson than i do you may have to take the whole test at her office, she had sent me part of the test to take at home that she could, and I had about and hour to go with the other test when I got to her office that morning. I really liked her, I had to pay $250 that day, but will be getting $100 back since my insurance has paid the $150, she said she would send me a refund check if the insurance paid on the eval.. I'm glad it did. I can use that money for the next bill I get. If you still need the number I will get it tomorrow, it is in my office at work. HINT TEST NOT HARD AT ALL

Thank you so much. I found her number on Google. I will take money with me. I know my insurance will pay on it, but I know it wont be much either. LOL I have medicare and a supliment. I was talking to my hubby tonight about how hard it would be to live without insurance. My gyno is from Canada and she is amazed at how we do here in USA. In Canada everyone has insurance. I dont know how it works, but when she came here she was very surprised. She sees alot of her patients for colds and day to day pcp illnesses b/c they do not have insurance and she will waive her fee for them. I got off the subject here. I am very excited. God Bless Donna

Connie, Do you know who CMMC uses for pulmonary studies? I did not get my letter today either. I sat up an appointment with Dr Gilbert for the psych exam. It is a week from Wednesday.

If Arlies Dr. will do testing for $100. & all I liked was that & a few other test, I would find the money somewhere & some way to get it. Assuming that Medicare will pay fairly quick for the other test you need. Have you thought about having some type of fund raiser ? Like a yard sale, bake sale, etc. That could be a quick way of getting the money. The first of the month is right here upon us, & that is when to have them. Who knows, you may make more than what you actually need. Then if there is a time issue w/the other test due to money, have them done also. Getting them done ASAP means getting a surgery date alot sooner. And that is well worth paying $100.00 for. Plus, you'd be getting rid of some unneeded and unwanted junk in the process. Think of it as Fall Cleaning. Be creative. There has to be at least a thousand ways to make money from home. Plus if you live in a small town or community, some local store owners may let you put donation jugs in their places of business. Loose change adds up pretty quick also. Get friends, family, church members, everyone involved. Anyone who knows you and knows what you are going through, would be more than glad to help out I'm sure. Just ask them.

Tammy, That was so nice of you. Money is not a problem at all. I just wanted him to have my business since he gave the others such a good price. I saw where Connie posted she owed 100 after insurance anyway and since his is 100 I was thinking of just using him anyway. The only thing is I am much closer to Jackson than Meridian. I will call Dr Hawks and see when she can see me. If it is not real soon then I will go to Dr Gilbert in Meridian. My husband owned his own business for years and I am a stickler for service. I like to support a person who gives people a break, and without a doubt this Dr is not doing it for the money or he would be charging a whole lot more. Again, I thank you for thinking of me and posting to me. God Bless Donna

Hi Donna, I think I read somewhere that Arlies used the same one I did, Walter Frazier, but i'm not sure. I basically called him up and told him I did not have insurance or a job at the present time and he cut his fee in half for me. Good Luck to you. Sounds like you are almost there.

Well, I was gonna mention Walter Frazier, but Melynda already did. He charges $280, and I think will file on insurance, but am not sure about that. I had an appt with him, but canceled once I got Dr. Gilbert since Tricare wouldn't pay for Mr. Frazier.... Good luck! Arlies PS just remember, if you're NOT crazy NOW, then after those tests you WILL BE!!!!!!!!!!
