Anyone used vocational rehab???
I went through VR and used Dr. Byars in Oxford, as my surgeon. I had a wonderful and super easy experience with him and with VR.
You need to contact them quickly, however, as they distribute their money out quickly. The wait for Dr. Byars to do a VR case is about two years though, I think. You can call and talk to Micki Johnson at his office and she should be able to tell you.
Our expect on Vocational Rehab is Kristi Ethridge. She had surgery a week ago Monday. She can give you insight as to how they work, but she will be slow in answering since she's at her Moms and doesn't have a computer.
It's good to have you on board. I hope that you will come often and stay long. We are a pretty good group of folks and are happy to meet you! Keep us posted on your journey and if you have any questions or need anything, let us know!
Smooch,
Arlies
PS if you email me, I will give you Kristi's number!
Hi Amy, I am using them, but my surgery date is in a couple of weeks. Not much to report yet, but I am suppose to go and see them next to discuss more of what will be expected. I do know they haven't covered anything up to this point, none of the pre work. I am hoping they cover some of the post op visits, but I am afraid they will tell me they only cover the surgery. I will let you know what they say next week. Dr. Blake is my Doctor because he was recommended to me by my counselor. Hopefully Kristi will be able to let us know more when she comes back.
Thanks everyone for the info. I found out that there is a 12 month wait for an initial consulation and then a 1-2 year wait after that if I try and go through VR in my county.
At this point I am still trying other avenues to get my surgery. I don't want to give up too easily.
Thanks again for all the info and supprt.
-Amy
