thanks everyone, next question
Okay, I got my denial letter from UHC. They said Tulane (my employer) put in the written exclusion. Crazy huh? since Tulane does wls afterall. I contact Tulane, who tells me its a UHC clause because it is a "fully insured plan"...does anyone know what this is, or is it just the run around. My employer says to appeal to UHC. UHC says to appeal to my employer. Ya'll have all been so helpful. When it comes to all the insurance yaya I am lost. I thought the doctor just turned it in, and tada it was okay. Boy am I learning a lot. Thanks again you guys for all the help and support, I am so lucky to have found others going through the same situations.

Jane I am just getting started at this. I am waiting to get my app date with Dr. Roger Blake. I called voc rehab to see if they could help me. They told me to call them back after I got my app. date. I was wondering sence you are going through them could you tell me what all you have to do? You can email me at [email protected].
Thank You
Melissa
Hey Brenie,
I don't know anything about problems with insurance (THANK YOU, GOD!!), but you might want to post this on the main board too. It's not too scarey over there. Dex and I go over there alot and look and post. You will get alot more responses, and maybe even come across some folks that have the same insurance and can give you really good points. Also, since you work at Tulane, post on the Louisanna board.
Let us all hear your results! It may help one of us too!

thanks ya'll. Jane, it would be great to meet someone and have someone to talk to. Good luck on your December date. I'll try the other message board post also. I did speak to a girl in LA. that had the exact same plan, and they approved hers with no problem. Like I said, it's just a run around. Janet, with Dr. Whitehead got my denial letter, so maybe she can tell me where to go from now. I spoke with my benefit specialist at Tulane, and she strongly encouraged me to appeal through UHC. They never even sent me a copy of my benefits plan, so if I could just get that....UHC said it is because of the wording, and if I can find a problem with the language....Just keep praying for me ya'll, and I have so enjoyed the help alone the way.

I plan to be there, even though I'm not sure exactly where the place is, behind FGH I think? Is it back by the nursing home? I am working myself too death this month, trying to build a house and all. I think I have 58 hours scheduled for that week. I am so tired all the time, but I will do my very best to be there, as I would like to meet ya'll too, and listen to everyone else's experiences. Thanks for the support.

It will be my 3rd time there and so far everyone has been amazing. There have been 2 from last months meeting that have had there surgeries and I cant wait to talk to them. It will be my last support group meeting before my surgery. It is directly across the street from the cancer center. TUrn onto that road and you wont miss it. 58 hours of work? What do you do?
You get lots of good info there and just listening to everyone go around the room and say how much weight they have lost is amazing. You can just see them beaming...
