I have my psy. eval. on Aug. 31st. I am wondering if this is hard? I read that there is a questionnere, but is there anything else that they do with you? I am scared to go. Since I live a little far from Oxford, Dr. King has allowed me to use my local psychologist for this appointment. What's next after this? I know I have to do the scope thing and the filter. Are there alot more tests after that? I know they say it's a 4-6 months process. Do I test for the next two-three months? I've only been trying to get approval and want to know what lies ahead.

The testing is nothing. They do all kinds of stuff. The psch stuff is easy just time consuming. The blood work for the lung studies is a little painful becasue it is in the artery. The testing is over a few months because they are all different people. Different times and maybe weeks apart. That is what is so frustrating. I started in Januarya nd just go finished with my testing. Good luck and write back. Jane from coastal MS

Hey Bridget, Hope your Psychiatric Evaluation went great today. Is your Scope and Vena Cava filter on the same day? Sept. 7th? After you get the clearance from the psychologist, there really shouldn't be that much of a wait. At least for me, Becky Wilson pushed the paperwork through and faxed letters back and forth between all of the insurance and hospital folks. e-mail me and let me know if you need anything, or if there is anything I can do for you. I'm going to ask my wife what would be good info for a spouse to know to put them at ease a little. Like, how long to expect the waits to be with various procedures and such. Keep me posted. By the way, how's the smoking going? That was the hardest thing for me. Now I'm about 17months smokeless. Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Bridget, I bet you are worn out after the psych test. It takes a while!! It's not hard or anything, just LLLOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG!!!! The other tests are too bad, nothing is painful except when they poke your finger to get blood for the diabetic thing. So you are on your way!!! Stick with Dex, he knows it all!!! Love, Arlies
