approved by insurance

I was just approved by my secondary insurance for gastric bypass. Excited and scared. Has anyone used Dr. Cleveland? How long did it take you to schedule a surgery date after insurance approval.

Hi Glenda~~~~ I started checking into surgery in April 2004. I went through alot of test. I went for my consulation with (sweet) Dr Cleveland in mid July 2004. I was given my surgery date then. It was scheduled for August 16, 2004. The week before I got a call from Jeannie (RN) and she said that my EKG was abnormal and that I would have to postphone surgery and see a cardiologist. She made me an appt with the Dr that they use. I seen him on the Aug. 17, 2004. He did a Echo of my heart and everything checked out fine. All we are waiting on now is for Dr Cleveland to get the letter for clearance for surgery. When he receives the letter, Jeannie will then schedule me for surgery again. Hope that this info helps you. Just be patient is the main thing. And I think that you picked a great surgeon. I have heard only GREAT things about him. Feel free to look at my profile and see what steps that I had to take. HI, I haven't met Dr. Cleveland yet, but hope to as soon as my insurance approves me, I have been trying to get approved for over a year now, but think it is about to happen in the NEAR NEAR future. I have to go through some of the same stuff I did back in DEC. of 2003 but believe I will be approved in the next 45 days. I have only met some of Dr. Clevelands staff, they are great. Good luck on your surgery, I'll be thinking of you, let me know when you get that surgery date.

Hey Glenda! Where in the world is Ruth???? I am not using Dr. Cleveland, but I have met him and he is the greatest! You will really like him. I had only heard good things about him. His nurse, Adam Dungey, posts on here on occasion and he is a sweetheart too. You have made a good choice in surgeons. Let us hear how it goes. Love, Arlies
