OK hey everyone. I just back home after a week in the hospital. I am including my post from Sunday afternoon, so I don't have to type it all over again. This refers to last week. Pain!! Please advise! Hi All, this past week on WED I did really good. Got in all my protein and water. Well Thursday I got up and was really dry mouthed, so I got a SF popsicle. Within about 1 minute of eating it, I was DUMPING big time. Well today is Sunday and I continue in excruxiating pain. It started with what I thought was gas pain Friday and just still feeling blah after dumping. My lower back was hurting. I finally contacted my surgeons office yesterday,(SAT) cause it just hurts so bad. He suggested Mylocon Drops. So I get those. The pressure eases up for a bit but within 30 or so minutes I am back in pain. I am urinating and bowels seem to be working alright, just PAIN! Dr. Byers asked me if I had my Gall Bladder out and I did not. I am wondering if this could be a Gall Bladder attack. Please help. I do not want to drive 3.5 hours for them to tell me it is GAS! Please PLease PLEASE help. I am hurting so bad. I am also dumping on water. Not everytime I drink it but already 4 times today. Thanks, Angie Ok I got great advice and ended up in local ER. After xrays did not show anything, I was give a dye cat Scan. I had (4) gall stones. Take this pain medication and call your dr in 2 days if you are not feeling better. Well by 10 am Monday, I was dying again and I called Dr. King and left a message. When I had not rec'd a call back by noon, I called and said it was an EMERGENCY. I talked to Robyn, the nurse, and she said she would call me back in 5 minutes. In about 2 she called back and told me to get my BUTT to Oxford, I was being admitted. I then had to call DH and get him home (1 hour drive) get someone to watch house, water, collect mail and get DH stuffs together. We got to Oxford at 7 pm (3 1/2 - 4 hr Drive) Was in my room by 7:30 and attached to IV by 7:45. I was put on antibitoics and pain meds, THANK GOD! And was made comfortable. Since Dr. King only doers surgery on M-W-F. I was put in surgery pool for Wed afternoon. I stayed medicated and doped up! Went to surgery at 2. For what everyone thought was a routine Gall Bladder removal. Well after 4+ hours I was in ICU. It seems that my pretty little Gall Bladder was competely full of PUS and Not just 4 stones but 9+,ranging in size from a pin head to cylinder shaped sphere. Had flipped from original position AND was trying to adhere to MY right Abdominal WALL! I am gonna try to scan the pics and put them on my page at a later date. Dr. King told my Dh that if we would have wated another day or 2 without treatment that it would have been a BAD Deal! This procedure was done Lap as well, and even Robyn, Dr. Kings nurse said he should have opened you up, but he was determined not too give me a big ugly scar. I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!! The nursing staff all but the overnight shift SUCKED! And I went off on them Tuesday after waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes to get the RN to MY ROOM for pain Meds. Anyway, That is my week in a nut Shell. I am home and doing great! Sore but able to get fluids in after 5 days of what I thought was GAS and dumping on WATER! Thanks Again to all who posted responses! I took your advice and Thank God I DID! Much Love, Angie

Angie, Poor baby! I missed your original post somehow. I am so sorry to hear about your rough week. Thank God that it was your gall bladder and all is well now. They say that when you have your gall bladder taken out, life gets so much better _or at least more pain free. I intend to ask to have mine removed during WLS - as according to my sister I fit the profile for trouble - "fair, fat, and over 40." Again, I am so sorry I missed your original post, but I am here if you need me. Let me know. Smoochies & Hugs Arlies PS I wondered why you hadn't been around.

Arlies, I actually posted an priority ? on main board last Sunday afternoon which pushed me to the ER. My surgeon requested the DEMONS removal when he sent in approval info and INS denied it. Read my latest post about the ins on my profile. I am so mad about that right now. Anyway, I am feeling alot better, and aside from residual pain from the 4 days prior to 2nd surgery. I feel a heckuva lot better than last week at this time! I thought I had Gas really bad in my lower back and that I was still dumping, from what I thought was dumping on Thursday of last week. It was the Gall Bladder all along. But my insides feel like I think a Football feels like after a good GAME! I know I am bruised in my back and rib area, and it hurts so bad to take a full breathe in but only on the right side. I was shoving my pillows up under me to try to relieve the 'gas' when I was in pain. I did more damage than if I had Just gone to the ER in the 1st place. But I truly thought it was residual dumping from some over sugared protein powder I had tried. I know if you can get the little demon out DO IT! I would not wish that kind of HELL on anyone. WELL...........maybe........... I appreciate your kind words! Much Love, Angie I will bring pics of it to the meeting! Very interesting! And yep that is part of y I was not around much in the last 2 weeks! lol Looking forward to seeing ya! Hope you can make it to the meeting Monday!

Connie, Thank You for your kind words. When you get approved by Unicare, please try to get the gall bladder at least checked. They outright denied gall bladder removal and I had been DOING great in my recovery until this happened! I figure I have had stones for a while BUT they really flared up when my diet changed so dramatically! I would NOT want you to have to suffer though this pain. Thought I was dying! I again appreciate your kindness and Pray you will hear SOON! DR. KING IS THE GREATEST!!!! Much Love, Angie
