Good News!!
Hey all!
Today was a good day for me!! Susan from Dr. Salameh's office called me and told me that Dr. S has read my Psych Eval and Mr. Frazier's reccomendations. She said that Dr. Salameh is NOT going to require me to have counseling before my surgery.
However, he does want me to meet with a counselor at least once before my surgery date to establish a relationship so if "depressive issues" do arise after surgery then I will have a counselor that knows my situation and can help me. He is leaving it up to me who I choose to see, so I will use someone here in Meridian.
I have an appointment with Dr. Salameh Tuesday August 10 to do all my pre-op work-up. And at that appointment I WILL GET MY SURGERY DATE!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEE!
I was really discouraged last week after reading my Psych Eval and did a lot of praying this weekend that God would just help me to learn to be patient and wait on him. One day I'll learn, lol. Worry gets you nowhere (but I am the world's worse)! LOL

Hi Kristi,
Glad to hear that you've gotten to the next step. I know it's horrible to have to go through those steps where you get discouraged, but the key point is to NOT GIVE UP! Trust me, I've had my share , and I'm happy for every one of my sisters/ brothers who get the "go ahead" for their surgery. Do find yourself a decent psych though, and this is important, because sometimes this is not as easy as others make it out to be. Some of us still need a little extra help, and there's nothing wrong with talking to someone to get help. The doctor who gave me my evaluation, gave me his card and told me, to keep in mind, if I have any issues that come up after surgery, feel free to come to him and discuss it. He was really friendly and not pushy at all. We take so much abuse for years and years, if I do get to the situation where I need help, I will take advantage of that offer he made. After all, hunger alone didn't bring me to 300+ lbs, there are other issues and even though at times we're totally strong and think we can do it all, in reality, if we were that strong, we would not have had to have surgery to overcome weightproblems. Just relax, and you'll be fine. Good luck on your journey, keep us updated !!
