Hey folks, Don't forget Tuesday, July 20 UMMC support meeting. Email me for directions if you need. There has been some disturbing info posted on this board lately concerning Dr. Blake. I spoke with Kristy, his nurse, this am. As far as she knows, there are no lawsuits pending - and she would know. Daphne will be working on getting Dr. Blake's info on the site and Kristy is getting his stats together right now. I will post them as soon as I hear. Dr Blake does have a patient right now that is pretty sick - Of course, I did not get any details about the situation due to privacy, but I do know that she is young and healthy and they are hoping for a full recovery. Keep her in your prayers - even if we don't know her name, God does. If you can attend the support meeting tomorrow night, please come. I requested that Dr. Blake address some of these issues that have been showing up on here lately. Out of fairness to all the doctors, if it is a rumor or you heard it from a friend's friend, please be careful that you do not hurt anyone's reputation with rumors. We are all nervous going into this surgery, and rumors don't help. Also, please do not let your predujices, if any, color your comments - A doctor's race, sex, or national origins do not determine his/her ability to be a good surgeon. Arlies, thank you for following up on this for all of us. I will be at the meeting tomorrow night. You are right, it isn't fair for Dr. Blake to be discussed with information that may or may not be true. I really hope he will be there so we will be able to talk with him about these issues. After all, we are putting our lives in his hands. I will be watching all day to see if Kristi gets the information to you today. Thanks again, Smiles, Jan

Hey Sweets, Dr. Blake is ALWAYS at the meetings - or at least has always so far. I'm sure there are times when he has an emergency and can't make it, but he does plan on being there. I have been assured repeatedly by Kristy, his nurse, and Adam, Dr. Cleveland's nurse that he is an excellent surgeon. Hopefully, he will address all this, if not, afterwards, we can hold him down and get the straight info!!! Thanks for your kind reply. I will probably get some flaming for the post, but dog-gone-it, I may just have to let go with a malatov ****tail or two myself if I do!! LOL. hiya hun!, I have also read the post about the girl that is very ill. I tried to call you yesterday right after I read it and the phone was busy (you were working i know lol) but I wanted to let you know about it and to see if you had heard from Kristi because I am sure she would know. But the thing we all need to remember is that there is a possibility that could happen to anyone having this surgery and to any sugern reguardless of ages, sex, race, religion, etc. I personally very very impressed with Dr. Blake reguardless of things i have "hear" because you dont know what is fact or what is hearsay! The only way to find that out is to ask the Dr. face to face. I am glad that Dr. Blake will be there and I am also impressed with his staff for putting forth such an effort to answer our questions and get us all the info we request and take care of all the patiens they have everyday at work. And your right if he dont address these issurs and questions ill sit on him and you all can tie him up LOL!!! I will be at the meeting tomorrow night (austin will be with me also DH as to work late) and I am looking forward to meeting all of those that decide to attend Thanks for the heads up arlies! Where did all this come from about prejudices? I have not seen anyone talking about race or religion on this board? Did I miss something?
