Hello all, I have a quick question. My husband will be with me for surgery and at my appt on the 24th Dr. King told me it would be a Private room and that he could stay with me. Has anyone else had thier SO stay with them? DH is hell Bent on NOT staying in a hotel. We are leaving on the 1st and getting a room for one night. But he is concerned that I was misinformed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Angie pre-op til 7/2/04

Angie i used dr byers which is dr kings partner, and not only did my wife get to stay with me they put us in a double room with 2 beds so she had all the comforts of home, the staff there is great at the hospital they will bend over backwards for you or your spouse. so dont worry about that. Just a reminder when your post op walk as much as you can especially by the nurses station the more they see you walk they tell the dr and that will get you a early ticket out of there lol. once you make yourself get up and walk it gets easier and easier i went home the 3rd day after open rny but i had made several loops around the nurses station and they do tell the dr what they see lol so have a great recovery youll do great. matt ps remember to take some chapstick your lips will be very dry!

Matt, Thank you so much for answering. You have definately made me feel alot better. I will relay this to my Husband and I know he will feel better about it as well. I am determined to be in the hospital for as short of time as possible. I appreciate your advice. Thanks again for your information, See you on the other side!!!! Angie

I, too, used Dr. Byars and my hubby could have stayed in a cozy bed beside me, however, he opted for the Rebel Motel. The lights in the room and the nurses coming in bothered him. They are so wonderful there. The nurses were great!
