Hey yall

Hi i been coming to this site since I was pre op and never knew there was a Mississippi message board. Well I found it lol My name is Matt and Im from Beaumont, Ms. I had Gastric bypass January 12, 2004 in Oxford Ms by Dr Walker Byars he works with Dr King and I will say I would never change anything he is great very strict on aftercare but it works, I had my 5 month checkup yesterday and Im down 130lbs in 5 months I feel great and actually Im a whole new person lol. well nice meeting all of you and maybe we can talk sometime matt

Hey Matt! This is Kristi from Meridian, MS. I lived in Hattiesburg for a few years while I was at USM and LOVED IT. Congrats on your loss!! I can't wait until I am where you are. I am also using Voc Rehab (they have been wonderful) and Im using Dr. Salameh at UMC and he is going to be able to do my surgery Laparoscopically. He's a really nice surgeon. I think I'm only a month or so away from surgery and can't wait to be able to tell how much i"ve lost like you have. Keep In Touch with us and keep us posted!

Hey Matt, Welcome!!!!!!!! I am having my RNY done by Dr. King, and Dr. Byars is doing my VCF. I don't have a date yet, hope to when I go on the 24th for EGD results. I, too lived in Hattiesburg when I first moved to MS in November 2001. I loved it. In Meridian now, (my husband is from here). Anyway, welcome and come visit again! Angie

Hi Matt, I'm new to this site as well, and I'm at 10 months post-op. I'm down from 370lbs to 225 lbs. Walker Byars did my RNY as well. He's a great guy. He goes to my church. Congratulations on your first five months. Dx

Hi Matt, My name is Angela Blount and i am pre op...I lived in Perry County south of Hattiesburg near Wiggins up till 2 years ago when I had to move to Jackson (pearl) because of pregnancy probs....but I do know where Beaumont is.
