Need Help

Have any of you had lap band surgery performed by Dr. Carroll in Jackson, MS? If so, what are you perceptions? Did you like him, did you have a good experience, etc.... I have started researching this surgery and am looking for a surgeon since there is not one in my city. Any help would be appreciated.

I have my consultation with Dr. Carroll on the 28th of June (this appt was made several months ago). I only know one person who was banded by him...but he is a very well-known and respected surgeon in the Jackson area. He works at several of the hospitals here. (i'm a nurse and asked around for the 'low-down' on his professionalism). I can give you a personal opinion in a couple of weeks.

My research is boiling down to Dr. Blake and Dr. Salahamin (sp.?) both at UMC and Dr. Cleveland at CMMC. I have started attending their monthly support group (Dr. Brlake and Dr. Cleveland) to gain more info. So far, Dr. Blake would be the man except his appointment for first consult is November. I have yet to hear from Dr. Cleveland but did turn in info for them to check my insurance and should hear back end of June on eligibility. Good idea to do a lot of research before you get in with anyone in particular. Just for the record, I do not know anything of Dr. Carroll. Good luck........

I have heard of him and heard that he is very good. He did one of my 2nd cousin's lap band, but I hear she is not taking advantage of it. But the nurses at St Dominic's told me than both he and his wife are great! Love, Arlies
