Well I came home today from Birmingham. I had my liver surgery. The mass was LARGER than a basketball. The surgeon said he was very impressed with the mass. LOL. I had to spend the first 24 yours in SICU b/c my o2 stat keept dropping to 72. I had to wear my cpap mask with 5 liters of o2 to keep it up to 90 for the first night, then the next day it was up to like 95 with the o2 and cpap mask, so I got to go to a room. I was amazed at what lying in the bed for one day could do to you. I have always and I mean always jumped up right after coming to my room and started walking and they would not allow me to walk or sit on side of bed in SICU. I felt like I had been run over by a truck. The days are getting much better, but I never want to have to lie in bed for 24 hours again after surgery. I was in so much pain in recovery room I was praying for God to take me on, and my nurse bout had a fit. He said please dont pray that, and he finally got my pain under control. I decided then that I would not have the WLS b/c I just could not suffer like that again. I even told my family when they visited me in SICU that I would not be having WLS. Well... now I am not sure. I will just have to see if Dr Blake thinks he can do the WLS la*****t. If not, I dont know if I will have it done or not. I am cut from breast bone to belly button and dont want to have to do that one again. I have had 4 major surgeries before so I know about pain etc afterward, and this was much worse than any I have had before. The jp drain tube was not bad at all. Never caused me one second of pain until they took it out. Now that is something to remember. LOL. Dr told me there was no chance of mine being cancerous. It was a cystadenoma of liver. He said it was bigger than a basketball, pre op it was thought to be about the size of a basketball, but he said he was very surprised that it had grown in the last month and was over a basketball. I thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray that I will heal fast and make the right choice for me bout WLS. Nite Donna

Donna!!! I am so glad to hear from you!!! I have thought and thought about you. I am glad that your liver is taken care of. Now you will feel so much better, once you get past the surgery pain. I am glad you are going to continue to look into WLS. I betcha it will be easier on you since you won't have that tumor to being dragging you down and making you feel so bad prior to surgery. I am glad that God didn't answer your prayers with a yes. I am so glad this was one of the times He said, Not now. You rest and take care of yourself. If I can do anything to help, let me know. Love ya bunches, Arlies
