New to WLS

Hi Everyone. My name is Krystie and I live in Philadelphia, MS. I have been researching gastric bypass for several years and finally decided to do it. I really have enjoyed snooping around the message board and learning from you all. I am planning to have surgery. I was denied by my insurance earlier this week but have already sent my appeal stuff in to the medical review board. I have started my online journal, and that has helped alot. Dr. King and Becky are amazingly nice people and they answered all my questions. I really like Dr. King. Anyway, I am just rambaling now, but wanted to introduce myself. Hey Krystie! It's good to have you here!!! I'm just down the road from you over at Conehatta!!! Please talk with us often on here! We will have another support group meeting next month in Jackson at UMC and I will let you know the details when I know. It's a good thing!! I am pre-op and all I lack is my nutrition appt next week and then hopefully, I wll be scheduled for surgery pretty soon. Good to have you!!! Keep us posted. Arlies

Hey Krystie I am Donna, 35 mother of 2 having liver surgery next week. Have my first appointment with Dr Blake on June 29th.

Thank you all so much. I am hoping that I will get approval soon. I am waiting on my insurance company, and they are pretty slow. I also have an appointment with Dr Blake in October, but I just can't wait that long to get started, so I am going through Liv-Lite. Thanks again for you support.

hi kristie n welcome my wife frances is also new 2 wls we met with dr blake on thursday this past week n he is a very nice man ive done some research on him n he is very knowledgeale in his feild he continually goes back 2 school 2 learn the latest he said something on thursday that has stuck in my head he said he is here 2 help make u healthy not quote on quote a supermodel he said that this is a life long journey n that hell be there 4 u as long as possible best of luck 2 u on get ur ins. 2 cover the surgury please keep us updated God bless
