Obesity Clinic appt info

Hey gang, I just called the Obesity clinic to see if there were any cancelations (not yet), but I will continue to call every couple of days. The lady told me that I would see the nutritionist and the Obesity doctor would evaluate me for surgery. That kind of confuses me, because like Kristi, I am a "perfect canidate for this surgery." Hopefully, it will be great fun!!! I can hardly wait! Smoochies & Hugs Arlies

Hey Arlies I don't think you should be confused or worried about the Obesity Clinic Doctor evaluating you for surgery. If I understand correctly it is really the Bariatric Surgeon's and your decision ... I think the Obesity Clinic Medical Doc just has to make sure that you are healthy and strong enough to have the surgery, the nutritionist has to make sure you know what all you're getting into food wise, and the Psych Eval makes sure that you are doing the surgery for the right reasons. At least, that's how I understand it....once your Bariatric Surgeon approves you he just sends you to them for the formalities and such. Let me know if you know something different....and you keep being persistant....I know I am the same type of person girl, lol. Smooches Kristi

Thanks for the update. It is a shame after we wait so long that we then have to wait so long to get into the obesity clinic. Oh well.. we are adults.

Hey Arlies. I was wondering about the Support Group meetings at UMC. Dr. Salameh said that he wanted me to start attending but didn't tell me when or where they were held. I know you wrote at one time that you are attending them....can you give me some information? Thanks Kristi
