Obesity Clinic appt

Hey gang, I got my appt for the obesity clinic in the mail on Saturday. It is June 10, 2004 at 2 pm. (BTW the clinic is at the old Jackson Mall - now called the Medical Mall) I called this am and told them I would have no problem moving up if someone else cancels. They told me to keep checking back with them and they'd move me up if they can!! June is such a long time away!!!! The agony of the wait for the next appt begins!!! What exactly do they do at the obesity clinic? Is this the one that gets your blood for all the tests? So far I've had : 1. initial consult with surgeon 2. pulmonary study 3. okay from psychiatrist 4. the upcoming (SSSLLLOOOWWWWLLLLYYY) obesity clinic appt. What is obesity clinic? Why do you go? What do they do? I have never heard of that before. Fill me in girl

I don't know yet!!! I posted on the main board, but have only gotten one reply and it was for encouragement. It is obesity/nutrition clinic. I think they do all the bloodwork and I am sure talk to you about the eating after and probably prior to WLS. I will let you know as soon as I know!!! Smoochies & hugs Arlies

I am courious about the obesity clinic too.... are they just a diet place or what...LOL I guess you will find out soon enough..

Hey! IM interested to know how your Obesity Clinic visit goes. I met with Dr. Salameh today and he told me am a Perfect Candidate and we are going to go forward with the process. Dr. Salameh is also with UMC and he said that my visit would be at the Medical Mall. Also...he said I needed to attend support group meetings through UMC and that he thought they met one Tuesday out of the month. I really want to attend those meetings. Do you know when they are?
