Children of Postop Parents

have two children 8 and 3. I am 6 weeks postop and down 47 lbs. I weighed 328 in the beginning and now I weigh 275. My baby boy has become very clingy as if he is worried about me. I feel better more than ever in my life. My oldest son said that my body odor has changed too. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can help my sons adjust to this transition?

Hey Jaunine, I have two boys also they are really not having a hard time with my surgery now that I have had it but they also watched my mom over the last 8 months she is down 100 pounds and they keep asking me mommy are you gonna be skinny like nana lol so they are really excited about me being thinner b/c they know I will have more energy and feel like doing more with them soon I had my surgery 3/15/2004 went to the Doctor tuesday and I am already down 20 pounds so I am not far behind you. The difference is my boys are 10 and 7 so they are alittle older and they understand that I had to do this for my health and for them so I will be around longer. Good luck to you I think they will adjust soon children really adjust better to things sometimes better than adults. Hugs, Tonya
