trying to find surgeon near Laurel Ms

I am trying to help my cousin in Laurel find a good surgeon. I had WLS 9 months ago in Gainesville Fl and had wonderful results....I want to help her find the right place to go.....any recommendations?

Hi Trena, I live in Hattiesburg, MS which is just south of Laurel. I used Dr. Amy Rose who has her office in Biloxi. She did a wonderful job for me and the entire staff has been very supportive. She has lots of experience with open and Lap procedures. There are surgeons that are closer, but they lack the experience base that Dr. Rose can offer. Elesha McCarty

Hi , The doctor I recommend is Doctor Stephen Sudderth. He is in Vicksburg. The people there are great and his coordinator will get to you right away. Her name is Detra McCarty the number is 601-883-5000 ask them to ring Detra McCarty. they are so fast to get to you and Dr. Sudderth takes his time to explain all and answer any questions you may have. Lisa, thank you. I will pass this info on. Good luck to you. How long did it take from the time you started to Monday? I had my surgery June 16, 2003. To date, I have lost 102 lbs and feel wonderful. I had no complications. Had to learn to eat slow but I finally got a handle on that. Best of Luck, I hope all goes well for you....It is the bes thing I ever did for myself!!

Hi Trena, I am doing wonderfully! I've lost almost all of the weight I need to lose. I'm in the plastic surgery phase now. I've had my abdominoplasty and I'm saving up pennies to pay for the rest of the lifting. Dr. Rose has follow-ups initially every 2-3 weeks then every few months gradually weaning down. You have a 6 month visit, then 1 year and once a year from now on. She asks you have labs sent to her every 6 months. She offers a support group in Biloxi every month but it's an hour+ drive for me so I don't go often. Elesha LapRNY 2/26/02 288/165/??? Size 10-12

I had WLS 5 1/2 months ago. I used Dr. Amy Rose in Biloxi. She is AWESOME!!! I know that Dr. Whitehead with Hattiesburg Clinic is now doing the operations. You may want to call and talk with them. But, I am so glad I went with Dr. Rose. I have lost 120lbs.
