Topic: Hello Missouri
Seems like this board has lost a lot of people since Jan moved away. I know I haven't been on here much. Anyone in the Waynesville area, we are having support meetings again and all are welcome.

Hope you all have a great day.

Topic: First appointment on the 15th
Looking forward to my consultation on the 15th. Only a week away! I will see Dr. Follwell at newstart as well as the diatician and have my Phsych test done. So I believe all my requirements will be met that day other than fresh bloodwork and they will send for my DR's records after the appt. So excited to see what happens and how things go.

So what all will Dr Follwell do during his hour to hour and a half visit with me? Will there be any test run or anything like that?

Topic: So excited
Got the call from Newstart today....they confirmed my ins does cover and as of February 1st they no longer require a supervised diet...she said all I need to do is write down some of my weightloss attempts I did on my own.....I was a little worried if they would accept my Tops online diet and it seems that will be no problem....So they scheduled me to come in on Feruary 15th and see the Phsichiatrist Dr French, the dietition and Dr. Follwell my surgeon....They said this way I can get all that done that day and we should be ready to go.....So excited and so hope that it all goes smoothly and my Dr's can get their info in quickly....

Topic: much needed pancolectomy
I am looking for a plastic surgeon that will bill my insurance and my medical card for a much needed pancolectomy. I have had eight abdominal surgeries due to complications since my gastric bypass in september of 2004. Most recent one was a revision to remove a huge ulcer on my incision line. then while I was recovering a day out from that i had a dead bowel in my intestines and I was cut straight down my abdomen. This was all in November 2011. Now i the scare is panful and the excess skin is a problem when im actively moving around.

Topic: RE: HELP! I have to quit smoking,,,Does anybody have any advice?
I am in the 4th month of my 3rd quit.  Experts say sometimes you have to quit many times in order to be successful. My first quit was cold turkey - 6 months.  My second quit was with nicotine gum - 6 months.  I used nicotine gum this time as well, but I followed the directions this time .

About 2 months into this quit a friend let me puff his e-cig.  It was pure heaven, and if I had to do it over again, I might have gone that route.  I don't know that I would have ever been able to put the e-cig down, though.  Don't forget that nicotine alone lends itself to health problems, so at some point, it's going to have to go, too.

The best piece of advice I can offer is some days you'll be fighting the demon hour by hour, or minute by minute.  Everytime you feel like you need to have a cigarette, just make yourself wait ONE MORE MINUTE, or 30 MORE MINUTES, etc.

Never get over confident and think you can have just one cigarette-that has always been my downfall.

Best of luck.  I'd like to know how you're doing from time to time. I am new here and am unsure if I'll ever be able to get back to this forum, lol.

Has anyone used this ins for their surgery....from what I am gathering it don't seem like they will be to hard to deal with....When I talked to Newstart they said I should prolly have my surgery from 30 days to 6 months from the time of my consultation. I did Tops online for six months so hopefully they accept this for my weightloss attempt....I only need the one 6 month and my ins told me it just has to be something like weigh****chers....so they said my time frame will be how long it takes to finish my criteria for ins...
