Topic: WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY 13!!!!
Friday the 13th  are you superstitious? i never pay any attention to those things so dont know that anything bad has happened on that date or from doing certain things etc. so guess im not superstitious....

Tonight is our support meeting in Springfield....sure wi**** were closer but i have been going every month except two times for the las 4 years and dont feel right when i dont go. miss everyone too much...

Jo you said someone said that we dont have the mal absorbition after a certain amount of time. No i dont believe that i think the reason they gain weight is they eat too much....I know if i start eating too much or not the right things i will start gaining a couple of pounds and i will stop it and will lose them. So no i dont believe it at all i think it might me a cop out for that person. your small intestines dont grow back together like they were originally. how could they? impossible i would say.

Tammy if you like your veggies raw really that is the best way to eat them if you can. so eat them like take ...they have more vits that way than cooked . and if it is just a few that is alright eat the ones you like....make yourself drink the water and take the vits. and get in your amount of protein. and you should lose weight even at this late date.

got to get busy or i will be running behind all day. Have things i have to get done and we need to leave here about 4:30 so the ones of your that will be at the meeting I will see you tonight and the ones that arent i wish you were. love all of you a lot....

Today’s Reading

Nehemiah 3:15-5:13
1 Corinthians 7:25-40
Psalm 32:1-11
Proverbs 21:5-7

Daily Devotional

"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed"
(Proverbs 29:18, The Message)

God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to constantly increase so they can be examples of His goodness. But, in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. We have to look for what He is doing and obey what He tells us.

If you're not expecting favor, or if you are just satisfied with where you are, then you are living below your privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision of who you are as a child of the Most High God and see what He wants to do in your life, then opportunities, favor and increase will open before you. Just like this scripture says, as a child of the Most High, you are entitled to be the most blessed!

I encourage you, today, to take time to focus your thoughts on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word and ask Him to increase your capacity to receive. Then, follow His commands and look for His goodness—and get ready to be the most blessed!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I choose right now to set my mind and focus on You. I choose to look for what You want to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes or actions that would hold me back. I choose to obey You and thank You for Your blessing in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Hey Jan and All,
My oldest grandson Shayne had his tonsils and adnoids out yesterday. So I'm down here by St Lo at thier house. he's doin ok. Turns out his tonsils were very very large due to a birth defect. and he never has been able to breath thru his nose and has had a speach problem. This should fix both.
Have to go home today tho cuz my husbands oldest brother and his wife and his Mom are coming to our house for the weekend. Will be there sometime Fri. He's so excited, this is the first time since we moved to MO. that any of his family has come to visit. So I need to get home and make sure the house is up to the MIL coming!LOL
You guys all talk about eating all the fresh veggies out of the garden, that's something I have never liked. That's one of my biggest diet problems, don't like many veggies.I like tomatoes, carrots(raw),celery and broccoli(raw). that's about all.Don't even reqally like green beans out of the can but I will force myself to eat them once in a while.LOL
Ok gotta go. Got to get stuff packed up and get on the road. It's about a three hour drive. Then gotta do some grocery shopping when I get home. Can't have company come and not have anything for them to eat.LOL. Take care all, Love, Tammy

Some areas close to us got rain last night but we didn't.  Another 100 degree day today.

Jan, I used to love green beans but not so much since WLS.  Growing up I never had green beans from a can.  My mother canned many quarts every summer.  She froze some when we first got a freezer but we didn't like them.  I still don't like them.  It's the only frozen vegetable I won't eat.  I hope to get some fresh beans this weekend.

I got a recipe for a Yellow Squash casserole I want to try.  The Black-Eyed Pea restaurant had a Yellow Squash dish I loved.  I got the recipe and it was loaded with fat and sugar so I used less fat and Splenda and it tasted really good.

Someone on the BE board wrote about the fact that after 2 years RNY patients no longer have the malabsorption problem so that's why a lot of people gain weight.  I thought we always would have that problem.  If that's the case, why do we need to take certain vitamins and protein supplements?  Just wondering if you agree with that.

My son and his girlfriend met with her mother last night to go over their budget.  Her mother had agreed to help them financially until he gets back to work.  His short term disability payments aren't very much.  Barb was in the hospital twice for a week and had no sick leave so no pay.  Greg was really dreading meeting with her.  He feels badly that he spent money on alcohol and now his pay is reduced.  But, it turned out Barb has 13 credit cards, all pretty much maxxed out.  The CC payments come out of her checking account and are over $900 a month so she hasn't been able to pay the house payment.  Her mother told her she should never have kept Greg in the dark about the finances and she better get her head on straight and change her ways.

Try to keep cool!!

That is exactly the same recipe I use.  I've made it many times and it is delicious.  My recipe is half these ingredients.

I use the low carb or whole wheat tortillas.
