I'm leaving work at 1:30 to go to the eye doctor.  My right eye is driving me nuts.  The pain started yesterday, feels like stabbing, then it calms down and burns.  Sure hope he can find out what is causing all these eye problems.  It can't be from dry eyes.  I use Systane drops every day.  Really miserable when your eyes are irritated.

Tomorrow I'm off to take Max for his procedure.  I'm planning to do some shopping while he's being worked on.  Hope my eye is much better or I won't feel like shopping.

We got some rain and thunderstorms last night but not a lot.

Topic: Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday - Sept. 14th

Didn’t September just start?  It’s already half way gone, my goodness time is on the run.  That makes what Paul has to say during Galatians even more crucial.  Paul wrote this letter to the Christians in Galatia because he believed the good news about Jesus.    But some Jewish false teachers had visited them, the false teachers may have been ordinary Jews, but they may have been Jews who seemed to trust Jesus. However, those Jews were jealous of Paul and they had spoken against him. They said that Paul was not an apostle. And they said that the Christians had to obey the Jewish laws. These laws controlled people. Some of the Christians in Galatia believed the false teachers. Paul was very worried about the Christians. So he wrote this letter to teach them the truth again. He reminded them about the true liberty that Jesus gives. It’ll be an interesting book to read this next few days.  Proverbs goes right along with what Paul is preaching in Galatians.  “Commit yourself to instructions, listen carefully to the words of knowledge."

Today’s Reading

 Isaiah 15:1-18:7
Galatians 1:1-24
Psalm 58:1-11
Proverbs 23:12

Daily Devotional

"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another"
(John 1:16, NIV)

God wants to pour out His blessing and favor upon you each and every day. It says in the Psalms that He daily loads us with benefits! So many people miss out on all that God has for them because they are weighted down by guilt and condemnation. But notice what today's verse tells us about where His blessings come from—the fullness of His grace.

God's grace is His unmerited favor. That means we can't earn it. We can't work for it, and we can't change His mind about it. He pours out His blessing on us not because of what we do, but because of who He is. His blessings are based on His goodness, not ours.

Today, receive His grace. Receive His forgiveness. Let go of guilt and condemnation. Open your heart and mind to what God wants to do in your life and get ready because He is pouring out His goodness upon you with one blessing after another!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I choose to receive Your grace today which is Your supernatural empowerment. I release guilt and condemnation and receive Your love and forgiveness. Search my heart, O God. Renew me and cleanse me by Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

congradulations girl. so glad you did well.....the more you weight the faster the weight will come off if you will walk at least 30 mins. a day....get in all your protein and water ....the less you need to lose the slower \a person loses. but that is ok ....and 2 pounds a week isnt bad ...when have you ever lost that amount for a long extended time.

you will soon have so much energy you wont know what to do with yourself.....i can barely sit still for longer than just a few minutes any more.

support after surgery is as important as before...so keep us in the loop....ol

Daily Devotional

"Give us this day our daily bread…"
(Matthew 6:11, NKJ)

God has grace in store for you every single day. Grace is His supernatural empowerment, His unmerited favor on your life. All throughout scripture, we see God giving daily grace, empowerment and provision to His people. For example, when the people of Israel were in the wilderness headed toward the Promised Land, God gave them manna each morning to eat. It would just appear on the ground. But, He specifically instructed them to gather up only enough for one day's supply. In fact, if they got more than that, it wouldn't last. It would spoil. They were learning to trust God's grace every single day.

In the same way, God doesn't give us grace for a year at a time or even a month at a time. No, every 24 hours God has a fresh, new supply of grace, favor, wisdom and forgiveness. How are you going to make it through the seasons of your life? One day at a time. Look for His grace today. Look for His provision today. Look for His hand of favor and blessing today because He promises to supply everything you need for today.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your grace and favor on my life today. I know that You have a fresh supply of everything that I need—physically, spiritually and emotionally—today. Help me to trust You more as I seek Your face. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I gained about 20 pounds of fluid right after the surgery. It will come off. When it starts it should be pretty steady. There will be stalls so keep that in mind. My first was at four weeks and it lasted four weeks. I was fit to be tied. I thought here I went and had surgery and I am not even losing. I kinda lost slower than some others who had surgery around the same time. I made it to goal and then some .

Glad you lived to tell the story!!  I wasn't able to be near as active as you after surgery.  I gain "17" pounds in the hospital!!!  And it didn't come off slow either.  Put me in a depressive mood the first several weeks. I continued to be a slow loser and I'm still losing 2+ years out, but trying to maintain.

I also had a lot of gas, but found walking as much as possible helped with that.

Welcome to the losers bench!
